As they drive down a typical spring main road they break the silence with renovation ideas back and forth. A single thought keeping him locked in his own reality. It's winter but feels like Summer.
"Texas is a wonderfully complicated state" he says chuckling to himself.
"A wonderful day indeed it is"
Thanks to the music choice of the driver, his thoughts are of only the music. He's truly happy for once in a long time. He lays his head back deciding on a power nap.
He wakes up 45 minutes later according to his phone, the sky dark red.
"Hey where are we going?"
He says wiping his face before looking forward noticing the musics off and the occupants are staring at him.
James is frozen with confusion and fear. Clearing his throat trying to muster the courage to speak.
"Everything okay?"
The driver lets out this unholy screech before the passenger stabs his leg with a pen.
"AHHH! WHAT THE HELL?!?"
He grabs his leg before striking the passenger, but before he could pull back the driver grabs his arm and snaps it at the elbow with little to no effort.
James screams in agony before the driver pulls him closer and slamming his head into the center console. The world goes dark for a quick second before he realizes he's no longer in the car. The sound of trees in the wind are the only sound. James tries to stand up but fails miserably, James raises his right hand staring at his blood covered hand. Looking to his left he notices him arm at a 45 degree angle in the opposite direction.
"T-that's not supposed to look like that.."
He chuckles to himself before entrusting himself to fate.
"It's been fun but I guess this is my last hoorah.."
He raises his hand into the sky.
"To bad this wasn't on my own terms but you get what you ask for."
James grabs his pistol from his waistband and points it at his temple.
"Before I go.. I just wanted to let you know something."
A face appears to him just as beautiful as the day she left.
"It was fun and you were absolutely amazing. I wish we could've went through with our plan.. to bad though. Looks like I get what I asked for and for once everyone will be happy without me."
Tears stream down his face as the image smiles at him one final time.
"I love you"
