The male species will always be a mystery to me.

Why are they always so repulsive? Well not all of them, but a majority of them are just downright nasty.

After a long night of heavy drinking, Elliot's first choice of action is to head to the nearest burger joint to consume as much greasy food as his body will allow and that's not what I'm referring to when I say men are grotesque. What I mean is the second I woke up this morning I'm greeted with Spencer's smelly ass feet in my face and its not just a normal foot stench its the smell of socks that haven't been washed since the 10th grade because he won one JV basketball game and is now convinced their "Lucky". If it had been anyone else whose feet laid in my face all night I would have committed murder but I had to remind myself I love Spencer and that also includes his smelly feet.

But what furthers my statement on men being repulsive is while sitting in silence at the restaurant every single male at the table is hunched over their plate devouring the buffet they bought for themselves as if it would be their last. The only sound to be heard is the smacking of their lips as everyone ate with their mouths open and the occasional groan from someone tapping out. I'm not sure why they thought gorging themself would be a good idea considering we're going to the white water center to climb trees and participate in other strenuous outdoor activities.

"How's the water?" Lucas joked making some of the other boys chuckle.

"It's great thanks for asking" I replied sarcastically rolling my eyes. On top of feeling like my going to barf due to last night's activities, I'm vegan so besides fires I'm limited to what I can eat at a burger joint. If I wasn't so nauseous I would have stopped somewhere else and got my own meal but right now all I want to do is drink water and pray I dont pass out or barf while trying to show my dominance at the rec center.

"Twenty bucks she passes out after the first rope course," Tanner said making the guys burst into laugher.

"I'll raise you to forty but after the third course," Cora said standing up to shake Tanner's hand.

"Cora!" I shouted over the boys hollering at Cora's betrayal.

"I know you babes and you are for sure passing out." She smiles pinching one of my cheeks. I swatted her away and turned my body away from her trying my best to ignore her pestering. I can't believe she plotted against me and with these airheads, we are supposed to be on the same team.

"You really should eat something," Spencer said softly so the guys don't hear him.

"I'm pretty sure I'll vomit if I eat something," I said looking over at the basket of fries he slid closer to me. Even the smell of the food made me gag there is no way I could do it.

"Okay, guys let get this show on the road," Elliot said standing up from his chair and grabbing his tray to dispose of it on our way out.

"If it makes you feel any better I also made a bet that Theo ends up leaving early because she misses Quinn."Cora smiled pulling me

As much as I would love to laugh it's actually kinda sweet. I would give anything to have someone who's constantly thinking about me and wished they were with me when they were away.

"I get half the money if you win," I said standing up with everyone else.

"Deal" she smiles linking her arm with mine as we followed the boys to the van.

"So to make this more our speed I think we should add a challenge to the courses," Spencer announced from the back row of the SUV.

"I like where this is going" Lucas chimed in making me roll my eye from just the mere sound of his voice.

"We should have to complete the courses tied to a partner."

"So in other words, if you get stuck with Ellie you lose." Elliot snickered making me jerk around in the seat so I could punch him.

"What is it national shit on El day?" I complained. I should have prepared myself for all the harassment that was coming my way while on this trip. I have always been the easiest target when it came to the boys simply because I didn't have a boyfriend who was in the friend group to defend me. I dont necessarily mind it because I know they do it out of love I just have to use physical violence as my form of retaliation.

"No, you're just not as physically equipped as we are," Theo said giving me cute smile hoping it would make me feel better.

"I'll have you know I've been working out with Lani" I kinda lied. I've gone to the gym twice with her in the last two months and I know that doesn't sound like a lot but she's a maniac when it comes to the gym; I would have to shed tears in order for her to let me end my rep.

"If I remember correctly Lani said you've canceled the last four times" Tanner chimed in knowing he was absolutely correct.

"Y'all suck" I rolled my eyes and exited the van that was filled with laughter. They all pilled out after me and made a circle around Spencer who held his ball cap out with small pieces of paper in it.

"We'll pull names just make it fair." He said shaking the hat to mix the names up and approached Elliot. After ten minutes of pulling names and defusing fights over people peeking at the names, the teams were decided.

Elliot and Tanner
Theo and Lucas
Spencer and Cora
Everett and Ellie

I wish I could say I was thrilled to be on a team with Everett considering he's probably the most athletic out of everyone in the group except for the fact that he's the biggest pain in my ass. I dont like him and he doesn't like me we tolerate each other for the sake of keeping the peace among the group but other than that I avoid his presence at all cost.

What did he do that has made me despise him? Well for starters between the ages of 8 and 15 he made it his life mission to bully me and torment me any chance he got. I would complain to my parents or any adult for that matter and they would just dismiss me with a simple "boys will be boys" so I learned to fight back and would beat the shit of him until we reach high school and he got much larger than I did. I knew that if I wanted to survive high school I would just have to pretend he didn't exist and it worked out great until Elliot moved into town. He was the one who formed the group, really. I had three classes with him and we hit it off instantly and he quickly became one of my best guy friends but unfortunately, he played sports with everyone else meaning if I wanted to hang out with him I had to hang with everyone else, including Everett.
The unfortunate thing about that was Everett was popular in high school, surprise surprise and I was most definitely not and he reminded me of that every single day. He would publicly tournament every chance he got resulting in me not being able to make any new friends besides the ones I already had and the thought of getting a boyfriend was nonexistent. My entire school career was absolute hell because of him and I will never forgive him for it. I have obviously grown from being a teenager and I no longer want to ruin his life but if I could avoid him I would prefer to.

"You dont look so good," I said walking over to Everett who was hunched over with his hand on each of his knees.

"Thanks captain obvious" He groaned standing up straight for a few seconds before slouching again. "I'm hungover as shit."

"You're more than welcome to call it quits and sleep it off in the van," I suggested.

"Nice try short stack." He rolled his eyes at my attempt at freedom. "I dont lose and I dont plan on starting today."

"Okie Dokie," I said quietly to myself before slowly walking off from him.

This was going to be an interesting day.
