It was raining when I got to school. I headed to the table where my friends and I hung out and started to do homework that I hadn't done the previous night. Time goes by quick when you're running out of time to finish something due in an hour. "Hey you! Here's your tea. It's passion fruit." Melinda, who is my best friend, had a habit of always bringing me tea in the morning. She's honestly the friend I count on for anything.

I looked up at her and her long hair was being tossed by the wind. "You know you don't have to bring me tea every morning. I can live without it." She stared at me as a sipped my hot tea. "If I stopped bringing you tea, you would get annoyed all day for not having tea." I mean I guess she was always right whenever we discussed something. The tea was honestly just a way of comforting me for waking up every single morning to do the same thing everyday. The bell rang and we walked to Government class. After that class is over, I basically space out the entire time throughout the rest of my classes. After school the sun is shining in the puddles that take over the sidewalks.

The cool breeze felt even colder on my neck, and the music that was coming in through my ears completely distracted me from what was going on around me. I stepped down into the street to cross and a loud noise brought me back to the real world. I stopped and stared directly at the guy who was honking at me. "Dude! Watch where the hell you're walking!" His voice seemed to feed my sudden anger and I wanted to break his windshield with my phone. "How about you watch where the fuck you're driving and give pedestrians the right of way when you're supposed to!" I placed my earphones back in my ears and kept walking. A few seconds later I felt a tug on my shoulder. I turned around and was suddenly face to face with the guy who was just yelling at me. Shit. All I could think of was that he was going to beat the crap out of me.

"Look I'm really sorry for almost killing you. Honestly, it was my fault and I should've paid more attention to what I was doing." It was awkward enough yelling at him in the middle of the street and having apologize was even more awkward. "Uh, yeah. Sorry for yelling at you." I proceeded to place my earphone back in my ear again when he spoke again. "My name is Adam by the way." His smile showed a perfect line of straight white teeth. He stuck his hand out and waited for me to shake it. "Diego." He nodded as I shook his hand. "Do you need a ride home?" He pointed to his car that was waiting for him. I stared at it and thought about how stupid it would be to ride in a car, alone, with someone you just met and almost killed you. "No thanks. I'm almost home anyway. I better get home so, bye." I turned around and walked away.
