What could she possibly want?

I wondered as my eyes scanned our surroundings quickly so I'd see who she was with. Some of her friends were standing by a car that Jaz owns.

I'm gonna give you a quick round-up on these people.

Jasmine, Jaz for short, she's one of the rebellious students. You could say she's kind of a chav, but not really. She lives with her aunt since her parents sent her here. Originally she's from Ireland but her aunt lives in London and her parents thought sending her far from the place she's well-known for causing drama, would change her and make her a better kid. Jokes on them, she's just as bad, but now she knows how not to get caught.

The twins, Anna and Emma. You can never really tell them apart because they tend to dress very similarly. Even when you'd think you found one little thing that could help you make difference between them, they switch earrings or cut their hair. They find satisfaction in people getting them confused, including teachers so they can get away with shit.

Joey, the only gay kid around who came out, meaning everyone knows he's gay. Most of the teachers and students were supportive but some still laugh at him or give him weird looks when he decides to wear something more out there. I beat up one of the guys who laughed at him once but I didn't tell anyone. There's no reason for them to think I'm a hero when I'm not. I just don't tolerate bullies or homophobes.

And last but not least, the girl standing in front of me. She looked up at me through her long black lashes that were coated with a layer of mascara. I could see some of her makeup in her creases, but her makeup was never as crazy as it was for others. She just used a bit of concealer, mascara, maybe a little blush. I can't tell if it's the makeup that turns her cheeks rosy or the cold weather.

"Audrey." I acknowledge the girl in front of me with one simple nod.

Audrey Davies, one of the good students of our school. When she's not in a library with her head buried into a book, she's found with the four people I introduced earlier.

Surprising huh? How a good student is around a person like Jaz or the twins. Joey's a good kid, he has good grades and Audrey usually spends her time with him. But I always wondered how such opposites can be friends.

The only reason I've been friends with the boys for so long is that they are similar to me. If they were the good boy type I'm not sure we'd be as close as we are.

No hate towards the good boys, I just wouldn't want them talking my ear off for studying more and getting in trouble less.

"There's a party on Friday, at Jaz's place-"

"What kind of party?" I interrupt her speech, cutting to the chase.

"Well, it's like a, uh, birthday party." Her eyes move away from mine, her confidence noticeably wavering a bit. I assume she was forced to come up to me by her friends who watch us have this conversation from afar. When they see my head turn towards them, they all act like they haven't been looking, except for Jaz who just keeps staring with a satisfied smirk on her nude painted lips.

"Look," she says, bringing my attention back to her so I look at her instead of Jaz's smirk "Emma wants Niall to be there. And they said it would be more likely for him to come if you guys tag along."

She's not wrong. Even though Niall's never not in the mood for a good party or to take the opportunity to make out with a chick, he never goes to parties alone. We always go with him.

"And what do I get from this?" I ask, cocking a brow towards her. She's quite a bit shorter than me so she has to slightly look up at me to look into my eyes.

"Free booze?"

"Tempting. Go on." I add, waiting to hear what more she has to offer. I'm free on Friday and if my mum finds out the party I'm going to is the birthday party of Audrey Davies, she'll most likely let me go.

But I wanna see how badly she wants to get me to go.

"I'll steal a joint from Jaz for you?" She offers, unsure about what else could interest me. She knows I'm not the type of guy who cares if she offers she'd do my homework. I don't give a shit about homework.

My lips tug into a sly smirk at the mention of her stealing weed for me. I don't know why but hearing this sentence come out of her innocent lips makes me want to smirk.

I guess it's true that every good girl has a bad bitch side.

"I'll see what I can do. No promises." I add simply, suppressing my smirk so I don't seem enthusiastic.

"Please? She has a thing for Niall." She's quick to object, desperately wanting me to say yes on the spot.

"Don't they all." I say cockily, looking over her shoulder to see Tommy rolling into the parking lot and coming to a stop.

I fix my backpack's strap on my shoulder before I walk past Audrey, towards our car but a small, warm hand grabs my upper arm, making me stop in my tracks.

Audrey's blue eyes stare into mine, almost begging for me to say yes before I leave. I'm guessing she hates failure.

"See you tomorrow, Davies." I give her a final goodbye, easily slipping my arm out of her loose hold, leaving her hanging as I walk towards the car. I can't help my smirk creeping up on my face and hoping nobody notices.

I wipe the smile off my face once I reach the car, getting into the passenger seat and tossing my backpack to the backseat.

I'm guessing Tommy didn't see anything because he didn't make any annoying remarks on who I was talking to and why I was smiling. He was busy texting on his phone, probably to Maddie.

Once he hits send, he tosses the phone to the center console and puts the car in Drive, rolling out of the parking lot.

I take one last glance at Audrey who's now reunited with her friends then pull my eyes away, buckling myself in.

I retrieve my phone from my jacket's pocket, unlocking it with my face and opening my messages, clicking on the group chat we have with the boys and typing in my message before hitting send.

Party, Friday night.

aaaand we're back!
