-Present: River-
"General!" I heard someone call out. I lifted my head, my ears twitching as my fur stood at the end of my skin. I stood in front of a mirror, sighing as my own reflection stared back at me.
My fur was gray, my dog appearance revealing little about my personality. Of course, I'd prefer to be in the wild, hunting down deer and playing with bear cubs, but the city - my city - needed me. The President needed me.
My hair was pulled back, tied into a tight bun as my ears twitched, my armor cleaned and shined. The armor plating around my shoulders was bound tight, the chest piece tied to my torso. My waist was tied into a belt, my armor slim and tight around my legs, allowing maximum flexibility along with speed.
I turned toward the door as it flung open, Asher's body flying inside. Purple specks floated around him as his long face was held tightly with short black hair, his face pale-ish white with purple piercing eyes. He bowed, his body covered in the same armor set up, his left shoulder plate holding the President's symbol. The famous General symbol. I also held one on my left shoulder.
"It's Rose. Their back!" he says. I gasp stepping forward.
"You're sure!?" I ask, my paw extending out. From the armor stand flies my trident - its blue long body almost as long as a wooden staff. The long body and three sharp prongs at the end glisten with the magical enchantments of loyalty, Riptide, and much more. I spin it and look at Asher, the only other General in President Logan's military of villagers volunteers and Iron Golems.
"Yes! Their boarding the country's borders right now. Their army is huge!" Asher states. I walk outside, seeing the sunset. Its long rays stretch out, touching everything it could.
And there, along the horizon, was Rose, their long body walking with thousands of Illigars, zombies, skeletons, and witches.
"Get Kittin and Madi. Make sure that they are prepared to fight. I'll alert Logan and gather our forces," I state. Asher runs to the end of the long porch, the wind blowing the green grass.
"And Asher!" I say as I grab my shield from my armor stand and put both my trident and shield onto my back.
He turns around and looks at me.
"Yes?"
"Stay safe."
-1 Year Ago: Asher-
The sun beat down on my eyes, the sharp shine forcing my eyes open. I groaned, looking around me. It was a simple forest, the shining of the world around me forcing insects, deer, and frogs to chirp to life.
"Ah..." I stated sharply. I looked down to my torso, purple blood staining my shirt and pants but no sign of wounding.
With little effort, I stood, searching my body for any injuries but after finding some, I groaned, realizing my ender side had taken over... Again...
"Keep walking out like that and you'll end up getting killed," a voice stated. I turned and see Kitten, her mask sitting above her head.
"That pink makes it hard to look at you," I stated. Kittin laughs her hoodie a simple pink. Her mask is a simple pig mask, masking her face when in combat.
"You followed me?" I asked. Kittin puts her hands on her hips and sighs.
"You walked out... Again... I tracked you down to make sure you weren't killing random villagers or innocent animals," she states. I nod, looking at her.
"Alright, well... I still can't control my Ender Walks," I say. Kittin looks at me and shakes her head.
"Maybe... C'mon, let's get home," she states, turning around. "Think you can teleport us back to the village?" she asks. I walk to her and nod, smiling as I wrap my arms around her.
"Yeah, just hang on," I state. Purple specks form around us as my eyes glow purple. Suddenly, the village appears in my mind, and with a blink, we're gone. Only purple specks are left in our place.
-Logan-
"Can you get up?" my father asks. I groan, the curtains around my windows being pulled open. My father looks at me, letting his tight grip on the curtains go.
"Y'know, waking me up is a serious offense to every teenager in the village," I state. My father groans, putting his hands to his temple.
"We have plans, Logan... Get up, shower, and prepare to meet with the Clerk," my father states, leaving my room. My door slams shut.
"Prick," I stated softly. I stand, letting the red blankets fall off my bed. I kick them back onto the white mattress and walk into my bathroom, looking into my mirror. My hair was short and brown, laying just above my eyebrows.
"He is a growing man!" my mother yells.
"I don't care! He has to learn responsibilities!" he states back.
"Just because your the Mayor, doesn't mean he runs on your schedule!" my mother says. I can hear her sit down onto the couch, the springs creaking. I shake my head, grab a clean shirt and pants, and walk out, smiling.
"Alright! Let's go!" I say, faking my sudden mood swing.
"Jessica, me and your son have to go," he says, his face tense. I wave to her, opening my mouth to speak but as quickly as I had entered the living room, I exited it. My father's hand quickly grabbed mine and tugged me outside into the fresh morning air.
"We have to get you prepared for the public speech tonight," he states. I groan.
"And that requires the Clerk why?" I ask. My father's eyes don't leave the browned dead grass trail.
"Will both the Librarians be there?" I ask. My father doesn't answer again. We step in front of the Church, the Clerk's house located in the back of the Shrine.
We walk past the Shrine and into a secret room located in the back. We enter and I finally get my hand free from my father, his eyes filled with tears.
"Ah, finally..." A voice states. Suddenly, the Clerk turns around, a smile on his face.
"A new test subject."
-River-
I spin the staff, hitting the tree in the same spot, again and again, my paws tight around the wooden stick.
"You were saying," I say in a crisp and clean tone.
"We have a bounty for you," the villager states. I slam the wood staff into the ground. Dirt flies up as I turn and look into the villager's green eyes.
"For?" I state.
"It's an Ender-Human hybrid, sir..." he states calmly. I look into him more as I sigh.
"And what did they do?" I question. He grunts.
"That's no concern of yours! Just find that thing and I'll pay 20 Thousand in emeralds," he states. I cock a brow and cross my furred arms.
"That's a lot old man. Sure you can pay it?" I ask. He looks at me and gulps, nerves taking over.
"Yes," he states. I chuckle.
"30 thousand. 10 now and 20 when I bring back the Ender-Human," I state. He gasps.
"That's absurd! I could never-" I cut him off, grabbing the staff.
"You want the best Bounty Hunter on this side of the West Coast? Then you pay 30k. 10 now and 20 after the job is done," I state, looking at him. I put the wood staff onto my shoulder, a grin on my face.
"Fine. You have a deal."
