Chapter 3

Takemichi's Next Timeskip:
(from takemichi's pov:)

"Oh and before you go back there's one more thing" I turned around to look at Naoto, "Have you checked in with your sister in this future?". Confused by this comment I responded with "No... Why?", Naoto stayed silent for a moment making me dread the news that came next.

He handed me an old newspaper from his desk, the paper was from 2 years ago and the headline read "Famous Artist y/n Hanagaki dies in boat explosion"  my hands started to shake. "N-Naoto, what is this?" I asked through tears. "I'm sorry Takemichi" was all he said whilst looking at the ground, "In trying to save my sister I've endangered yours".

I kept reading the article, "Only three months after her debut as an Artist, y/n was killed in a tragic accident. What she thought was just going to a be a fun weekend with friends turned out to be something much much more. Luckily her two friends managed to escape with one severely injured whilst the other wasn't near the blast. Further investigations are currently being held."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier" Naoto said. "My team wasn't the one leading the investigation but I managed to copy some of the files, just don't ask how". He handed me a folder with the information.

I read through the files, "so it all leads back to Toman" I said. Naoto just nodded "Someone rigged to boat to explode when the motor was turned on but they never found out who" he said with a stern but saddened face.

"But why? Why would they want my sister dead, my sister was kind. Why would they hurt her?!" I screamed slightly through tears.  Naoto turned away, "No one knows the true motive, it could be many things. Money, jealousy, or considering that it was linked with Toman maybe she knew too much"

Back to the past:
(readers pov:)

"Dude what the hell I have friends over" I said after being crushed in a random hug from my brother after he just randomly barged into my room, "Oh my bad" he said after pulling away it was only then that I noticed the tears streaming from his eyes.

"Hey are you ok?" I asked with a hand on his shoulder. Takemichi wiped his eyes and left my room, I looked at my friends who were awkwardly sitting on my bed eating chips. "I'm gonna go see what that was about", they nodded and I left my room.

Takemichi was just sitting in his room, I slowley slid open the door and sat next to him. "So do you wanna talk about it or do you just want a hug?" I asked. He didn't say anything, he just hugged me and we sat in silence. I figured it was best to not ask too much questions. After sitting for a few minutes I got up to leave, "oh yeah and before Mitsuya left this morning he told me that there was a Toman meeting tonight"

"Mitsuya was here?" Takemichi asked looking confused, "I told you that he was coming over this morning before you left remember?" I said leaning against the door frame. "Why was he here?" Before I could answer his face widened and he yelled "ARE YOU TWO—" "NO!" I cut him off then lowered my voice "no we're just friends, anyway I told you this morning I was helping him design a fabric pattern remember?"  "Fabric pattern?" he muttered,  "yeah Mitsuya sews"

I opened the door to enter my room, and my friends were sitting on my bed and smirking at me strangely, I stopped in my tracks and stared at them "what's going on?" I asked, "who's Mitsuya?" One asked whilst the other smugly raised their eyebrows (just like this 😏) I grabbed one of the pillows by my door and threw it at them "one of my brothers gang friends who is now one of my friends" I walked towards my bed and sat down. "Mmhmmm friends sure" they said sarcastically, "yes friends and nothing more" I said grabbing the bag of chips from one of their hands. "HEY! give that back"  "they're my chips" I said stuffing my face.

"Anyway can you dye my hair now y/n?" One of my friends ask "oh yeah and you said that you'd cut mine as-well" said the other. "Yeah sure I'll be your personal stylist" I said pointing to myself proudly. "We still need to go and buy the dye dumbass" said my friend. "Oh yeah"

As we were walking down the street to the shop I noticed to familiar figures infront of us. "Ah, y/n-chan!"   "Oh hey guys what's up?" I asked Mikey and Draken. "Is Takemichi home?" asked Mikey,  "yeah he just got home a few minutes ago"  

Mikey- "see Ken-chin he is home!"
Draken- "I told you not to call me that, anyway thank you for helping us out at the festival the other week. you didn't have to get involved but yet you still helped" 
Y/n- "No worries, happy to help!"
Mikey- "I didn't realise how strong you were! Which is why I want to ask you to join Toman!"

I stayed silent for a moment in shock and I could tell my friends behind me were shocked as well. "Take some time to think about it, you don't have to answer just now" Draken said.  "Anyways see you at the meeting tonight!" Mikey said smiling and walking away, I stayed still for a moment and turned around "MIKEY! I'll join Toman!" I shouted at him, he just turned around and smiled.

My friends and I continued walking to the store, "geez y/n you're such a delinquent" "careful she might knock you out" "I'm sorry oh-great-delinquent-lord please don't hurt me!" They both joked behind me, "do you want me to do your hair or not?" I asked them jokingly, they both stayed quiet for a few seconds before mockingly beating each other up in slow motion. I just smiled and laughed.

We had bought the dye and were sitting in my bathroom, "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" My friend asked, I gasped dramatically "Are you doubting me?" "Yes" they said, "relax I'm amazing, I always do my own hair! Plus I've even taught my brothers friend everything I know and now he wants to be a hairdresser when he's older" I said, "now sit"

I dyed one friends hair and cut and styled the others whilst waiting for the colour to process, I rinsed out the colour and styled their hair. "See I told you I'm amazing!"  My friend stared at their self in the mirror in amazement for a while before jumping up to hug me and telling me how awesome I was. "yeah I know" was all I said.

Heyya! So that was the chapter, hope you liked it.  I wanted to use this chapter to build more on y/n's life and friendships outside of Toman so yeah that's what I did.
