It seemed that the car ride was indeed very much awkward. You see, Daisuke isn't the type to play music and his high-end car doesn't make a racket to fill the empty void and silence. This only left that silence to consume the two instead.
Haru tried to distract himself eagerly from the silence, eyes glancing to every object he could find out of the window. Every store, every street, every sign and every person. Anything. Anything at all. How could he make a conversation with Daisuke? That was just...unheard of after their fiasco.
'Hey so...you kiss great!' Or 'Want to kiss again maybe? I don't know...' wouldn't be great conversation starters, that's for sure.
Daisuke on the other hand was distracted with driving, though he could easily put the car on auto if he really wanted to. What he really had wanted by offering Haru a ride was to talk things out but to do that the two actually needed to talk. It was harder than he thought it would be.
With every turn and diversion in the car Haru could only think of happiness as he got closer to his destination, a place where he could run away from the awkwardness meanwhile Daisuke was full of regrets. He wanted to talk, to explain things. Yet no words left his lips.
Even as they reached the destination and Haru stepped out of the vehicle, running off and disappearing into his home, No words but a simple 'thank you' were spoken. Daisuke sat at the wheel of the car, fingers tapping anxiously on the rubber of the wheel. His eyes stayed focused on the house, them narrowing in disappointment. Could it be that Haru wasn't interested at all? Why else would he not speak to him? Why else would he run off without a mention of what happened in the wardrobe? Why would he leave him to ponder all on his own?
Many thoughts travelled through Daisuke's mind. Who knew that a colleague of all people would make him be this way? But alas he knew he couldn't tell anyone nor show his feelings. He was a billionaire detective, a shining beacon of strength and money. How could he show any type of weakness at all? Especially for Haru Kato.
With a heavy sigh and furrowed brows, Daisuke eventually stepped on the gas and pulled his car out of the house's way, returning to his own humble mansion where Suzue and his butler remained to greet him.
Suzue herself had noticed Daisuke's odd behaviour but not once did she voice her concerns, knowing that only bad outcomes could occur. Daisuke would deny anything and everything of he'd have a temper tantrum and storm off, just like when she had added a centimetre onto his shoe heel that one time. Something she now knew to never try again. Daisuke was a picky person and hard to please and he knew that himself, that's why it was l odd to him why Haru became someone so important to him. It was strange, strange how the world works.
The evening and night passed swiftly, leaving but trailing thoughts and regrets to fill Daisuke's mind as he retired to his chambers for the night. Perhaps Haru truly wasn't interested in him at all but what if he had screwed up his work relationship in his inability to control himself? It was a worrying thought but Daisuke knew better to overwhelm himself with hypothetical situations. It would be best to just let it play out and see what happens, though that didn't mean that he wasn't worried, because he most definitely was.
If Haru wasn't interested however, perhaps he could make him eventually? Daisuke wondered for a few minutes on that scenario but he knew he couldn't be careless or brazen. He had to go about it in a very careful manner. Though, was it worth it?
