Saturday, January 15 – Colorado

"I am glad that your father was able to fly us," Danielle comments as they head inside the cabin together.

Chase remembered when eh revealed to Danielle they wouldn't be heading back to Georgia that night, but rather to the cabin in Colorado. It was a shorter flight, easier travel with how late it was, and it'd give him a spot to relax tomorrow before the work week began in Charlotte.

He was expecting an argument in return – uncertainty, questioning motives as that had seemed to be par for the course. instead, though, she immediately accepted, noticing the draws as to why it was the better decision. Perhaps it was because of the nerves still about what happened.

"Does he come with you to all the races, by the way?" She questions as they both slip off their shoes and head inside the cabin.

"He comes to the majority of them," Chase answers as he heads to the kitchen, reaching into the fridge for a cold bottle of water. He knew he was going to need a serious way to relax and quickly as everything was about to set in. "When he's not there, Trey also knows how to fly so he is an option if I don't feel up to it."

He then leans back against the counter, letting out a sigh as he thinks back through the past 12 hours or so. It seemed the pain he knew would invade eventually was beginning to do so, feeling the soreness in his shoulders and upper back. There was also a bit of pain by his ribs, but that was probably the bruise that had begun forming earlier as he noticed while changing.

"You should go get a nice hot shower," Danielle comments, noticing his stance immediately as he twirled his neck around, rolling his shoulders a little. "It'll help with the muscles cramping up as you're feeling."

"I don't want to just leav-" Chase starts, to which she shakes her head immediately. his health and wellbeing was much more important than being the good host. It was why she had easily accepted this offer for travel.

"I'll be fine for 20, 30 minutes by myself. I am grown woman. I know where to find the drinks, the food, and how to work the television. Go Chase."

He nods his head, accepting, not wanting to argue at this moment in the time in feeling exhausted from a long day at the track already – flip aside.

With him down the hall of the cabin in the bathroom, she relaxes back on the couch in the living room. She debated putting on the television, but wasn't even sure what she wanted to watch. Besides, she had someone that she knew she should be taking care of that night.

She was a nurse, he was involved in a big wreck – it made sense that she offer the necessary steps to take care of him. After all, it was the least she could do after everything that had happened.

That was why she simply pulled out her phone, scrolling through a couple e-mails, before putting on a quick simple game. She knew as soon as he was out of the shower, she was going to ensure that he was doing everything properly and necessary for the night.

"Holy fuck!" She hears him let out 15 minutes later, causing her to jump off the couch, phome almost going flying in the process. She then composes herself as much as she can possible, while rushing down the hall to see what the response was to.

"What's wrong?" She questions standing in the bathroom door, as he stood there facing the mirror with just a towel wrapped around his waist. There may have an in-volunteer lick of the lips in seeing the sight before her as he was mighty fine in several ways.

"Nothing..." Chase didn't need to cause her anymore worry, having sensed enough already when they had met in the trailer. It was why he was hoping to scuff it off, throw on some pajamas, and get comfy for night without protest.
