PART 1
It was the first of March, circled with red in Sabre's calendar- "Job interview!!!🤩" written on that day. Since Time Steve was taking a nap, Sabre left a note at their kitchen table, saying:"Hey, Time!
I had to go somewhere real quick, but I'll be back by 5pm!
Take care and don't worry!
-Sabre :)"Sabre was already in the building that his interview took in. It was the most active and "famous" agency in the Districts 6-15 - The Lightheart agency- although it resided in District 4. Smiling, he waited for his turn. Seeing a Yellow Steve leave Light Steve's office and hearing his name being called out, he took a deep breath and entered the room.
"Good afternoon, Sir Light Steve!" Sabre bowed.
"Good afternoon. Please take a seat." They both sat down and Sabre introduced himself.
"As I understand, you want to intern here to become a spy agent, am I correct?"
"Yes, Sir. You are correct," Sabre confirmed. Light Steve took Sabre's papers and read through his CV.
Sabre could see Light Steve slightly frowning, which worried Sabre a little, but what could've he excepted when he had been an assassin, died multiple times and all that when he was so young? Light Steve, and actually even Sabre himself, wondered how he was able to still smile or be kind.Light wasn't sure what to ask. He questioned how his parents died, how did he get into a university and was a hero if he was an assassin for most of his life and how in the world he died so much and went to space?! The questions were answered on another paper, but he still wondered about Sabre's mental state. 'I have to give a call to Tokei and Kessho after this is done...' he thought.
"I know that this is already written on the paper, but I want to ask this from you personally. How did you get into a university when you had been an assassin for most of your life? And why were you an assassin in the first place?" he asked. Sabre was actually surprised that he hadn't been said to leave by now. Sir Light Steve decided to ask questions and even consider taking him as an intern despite knowing his bloody past.
"I was travelling around different countries and when I stopped being an assassin, my friends were hurt and I wanted to help them. We met a boy around my age at the time and he for some reason agreed to help. He helped my friends heal and in return I learnt the things to get into the university and help him with homework and chores."
"I see," Light Steve nodded.
"And for why I was an assassin, I guess I was angry at the so called peacekeepers, because they killed my parents and wanted revenge in a sense," Sabre fell in thought and admitted, "it's been years and I've tried to not think about it much, so I can't really remember."
Light nodded again and read through the papers again. He spotted something that was questionable and didn't have an answer anywhere.
"Tell me, are you not sure of your species? Of being a human or a Player."
"Oh, yeah. That's quite awkward-" Sabre chuckled awkwardly, "My apologies for the inconvenience. It was fo-"
