After Sabre finished his childish ramble, they had to get back on the topic.

"Ahem.. Kind of you to join us, Tokei." Light greeted him. "I'm sure you.. already know of Sabre."

"Heheh.. Yeah. Good morning to you too. Nerdy. Leader." He respectfully nodded as a greeting to the two too. "I understand that I must help with his training and cover?"

"Yes. Remember, the Yellow Leader is here to help as well."

Tokei nodded.

"So, I'll leave you three to it. I and my assistant must resume to our other duties. Good luck." Sir Light informed and left with Nerdy.
"Well- You two look like you had a long race?"

"I believe that a "race" is an overstatement-.." The Leader mumbled, embarrassed.

"Huh?"

"I was told that I ran at like 800 km/h-"

"Wait. WHAT?!"

—————

The three warmed up to each other quickly and talked to each other freely, some jokes here and there. They worked on Sabre's cover and story too, of course. They don't get paid for leisurely chatter.

"So, so far we have figured out that Sabre will definitely be registered as a Yellow Steve, he shall be a fan of the hero Flash, aka himself, and.." Tokei wasn't sure how to say the following note written. Luckily he didn't have to, because Sabre did it himself, but just as embarrassed as the agent was.

"And I have to act as Flash's long lost son?"

"... Yeah." Flash and Tokei said at the same time, not daring to look up from the floor.

"... Is there really no other way..? I'd have to live with you, right? And how would you explain this to your people and other Leaders?"

"That was just an idea-! We CAN think of something else.." Leader said, hands in surrender.

"Hmm..."

"..." Everyone was brainstorming ideas. Sabre, not getting any ideas, looked up at both of the older adults, nervousness clear on his face. He noticed that Flash suddenly frowned. Clearly he had something in mind.

"Leader..?"

"... Nightmare Steve is out loose, right?" He asked sternly, face darkened.

"The Steve that attacked me?" Sabre asked for confirmation and only got a short nod for the answer. "Yeah?"

"... Nevermind." The Leader dismissed his thought with a wave of his hand. "I have to think about it more throughly..."

Sabre and Tokei could sense that something was disturbing him. Something big. But asking him felt wrong. So they silently agreed not to do that.

"... Well, since we can't figure anything out at the moment.. What about some training to get our blood circling?"

"That sounds good." The Yellow Steve almost sounded relieved.

"Sure." Sabre smiled, not keeping his spirit down despite the worry for his newfound friend.

"Leader, you're joining in?" Tokei asked, a bit confused.

He nodded. "I mean, why not? I have whole day free." He shrugged.

"Well, then. Let's get this party started!"

"Warmup?"

"Run slowly five laps in the gym and start doing stretches."

"Oh come on! Slowly??!" The speedsters complain in union.

"I'm starting to rethink my life choices.." Flash muttered to which Sabre suddenly got into a fit of laughter.

"Oh come on! It's not that bad! See, Sabre's already doing the laps!" Tokei motioned to the named person, who indeed had already gone running.

"... Of course he is.." the Leader facepalmed. "He is very determined to become an agent to save people."

Tokei sighed. "When even was the last time you did some workout?"

"An hour ago??" Leader said it as to him it was obvious.

"Not counting the race. Race!"

The Steve leader groaned, not wanting to do things slowly.

"Plus, you two are speedsters. And he needs moral support! The point of today is for you two to become friends. He can't even try if you're not doing anything with him." Tokei reasoned. Fortunately, it worked. The Leader put away his robe and crown and joined Sabre with doing stretches.

Few words were exchanged, but it turned into a lively conversation soon enough. Tokei could only watch with a big proud smile and a very warm feeling in his chest. He was happy watching over them and seeing them become friends so quickly.

It was a nice feeling.

'If only he could trust other Steves so much.' He thought about all the times the Steves had an ill intent on him. He knew he was his favourite - well second favourite if we count him having to say Flash (himself) is his favourite - hero, because of the times he had saved him from serious trouble.

'That reminds me... The RPD informed me about the gang that had been attacking Sabre for over a year... They indeed had different eye colours and they had odd behaviour patterns which indicates an illness that has become quite a problem in the Steve villages... It's kind of similar to the Darkness, but it actually weakens the body and mind. The villagers call it the Huwosi.

Anyway, Lieutenant Lilac found clues about the illness and wanted me to investigate the case with him. I don't know if I'll be able to show up on time though.'

"Tokei! There was an explosion in a firm building to the west from here! Go there immediately!" The agent heard a commanding voice of his boss through an earpiece.

"Yes, sir!" Tokei answered hastily and left in a blink of an eye using his time powers.

"Huh? Where did Tokei go?" Sabre muttered with confusion when he noticed that the Steve was not with them anymore.

"Must've got a task. I'm sure he'll be back soon. Shall we go out for a walk until then? It is a break time right now."

"Sure thing." Sabre smiled.
