PARADISE
Paradise looked around in the anticipation of seeing the emotional colours of whoever had kidnapped her. The Temple of the Fallen Star? She had only ever heard rumours about the existence of this place and had also been careful to steer clear of the market district. Her life was difficult enough already. It wouldn't be the same way again if she let herself get dissolved in the magic of whatever held for her there.
"What kind of a joke is this?"
"One that can change your life forever," was all that the misty voice said but there was no person around. It seemed to be coming from all around her, probably echoing from the crystalline walls that reminded her of blue apples that she loved so much. She definitely loved the flowers of the same colour.
"I don't deal well with anonymous summons. I would very much like to meet you, if you will be kind enough to show your kidnapping murderous son of a branch's face here-"
She had been looking all around her but before she could swear, a woman stood in front of her wearing nothing but a piece of white cloth that seemed to be hanging onto the empty curves of her body only by the courtesy of a rope that seemed to be made of silver if Paradise was being honest to herself.
The woman in front of her had pearl white hair with eyes so blue that they were almost purple, a colour that Paradise had grown to detest for the negativity that it sometimes brought. Paradise imagined someone's cross mood to look purple and that was a beating she had lived through all her life.
Her senses were heightened but she couldn't seem to reach for anything as the woman walked towards her. It was more like gliding as the cloak covered her feet and swayed across the floor with her. "Who are you?"
"My name is Lilliandil," said the woman.
Paradise noticed the little blue and gold stars that seemed to be painted around the woman's eyes. No. Not painted. Branded. She had to stifle a gasp and resist the urge to look away when she noticed the woman had a brutal eight-pointed star branded on top of each eyelid that seemed to be paler than the surroundings around them. Paradise's kidnapper had a gold circlet crowned in their eyebrow and a sapphire ring on the finger that seemed to be missing its nail, standing out in the calmness.
"What am I doing here?" Paradise asked, forcing herself to look only in the woman's eyes and nowhere else. There were no more surprises that she needed this particular night, especially not from places believing in fairytales.
"We have brought you here to deliver us something quite valuable." Lilliandil's voice may have had all the sweetness of the world in it but it wasn't the entire truth and both of them knew that. "We are willing to pay you a hefty amount....if you pledge yourself to the stars that fuel this temple by the sacredness of their ancient magic."
"You want my help and you want me to pledge myself to you? Lady, do you even know how to make deals in the first place? You have nothing to give to me."
