clink.

clink.

clink.

someone needed to teach george how to sneak beer in a backpack cause this was painful to listen too.

clank.

clank.

clank.

yet still, here he was at dream's place on their eighteenth birthday.

dreams parents were never home. not even for his birthday, his eighteenth birthday at that. made it all the better for him and his friends though, having a place to yourself? amazing.

he opened the door, knowing dream was already waiting for him. 7pm. everyone else would be there in half an hour or so.

"george! oh it's great to see you! happy eighteenth man!" dream exclaimed, as george set down a backpack. clink. "and i see you brought the goods. everyone will be here in the next, i dunno, hour?"

george smiled, wrapping his arms around the taller man. "happy eighteenth, dream. so, why did you ask me to come earlier?" he said with a smirk on his face.

"well, i kinda have a surprise for you. i've been waiting and waiting but i figured our eighteenth birthday would be the best time to do it." dream let go of him, grabbing his hand and rushing him upstairs.

george followed, hauling ass to get up their with dreams speed.

fuck did he live this man. it had been only four days without seeing each other and already had he been heartsick for him.

"okay, okay. wait out here for just a second." dream said, a bright smile lighting up a dim hallway. he rushed into the room, accidentally slamming the door in the rush of things. george scoffed at the mans excitement.

it was probably just some lame gift, some bullshit he saw online and said, "hey george might want this!". it still meant a lot coming from him, but what more could he expect from some dumb boy like him.

he stared at the chipping paint on his door. the knob that had to of been at least one hundred years old, and of course the sign he had made dream when they were kids.

he had ran into dream's room, taping a sign that said "no americans allowed!" on his door just to be sure dream wouldn't come in. the stupid shit they did never failed to make george laugh, and the fact he still kept it up only made it better.

"okay, come on in." dream said opening the door with the biggest smile george had ever seen on his face.

george pushed open the door to see a giant box of his favorite chocolates sitting on the bed, along with the speaker he had really wanted for his pc.

"dream! aw, thank you. you know how much i wanted this speaker, and you remembered my favorite chocolate!" georges face lit up, gently grabbing the gift. "oh! well if we're doing this now let me get your gift from my bag, i'll be right back."

"no! wait, i have one more surprise." dream said, grabbing his shoulder.

"oh? show me!" george said, innocently.

"uhm. george, this might make or break our friendship so it's probably stupid to do it right before this party and you can't tell anyone that's gonna come and please don't be mad at me." dream spoke quickly and nervously, placing his hand on the back of his neck.

george grabbed dreams hand, "take a breath, what's up?"

sure he was confused, but he hated to see his best friend so nervous over a gift.

dream took in a breath, "george. we've been best friends for a really long time and i can't keep this a secret anymore. if the feelings aren't mutual don't let this ruin anything but, george i really like you. like really, really like you." he looked away. "and i feel like you feel the same so, if you don't mind me asking. george, would you be my boyfriend?"

george placed his hand over his mouth, a giant smile quickly spreading over his face. he hugged dream, tightly.

"your secrets safe with me dream. yes, yes of course i'll be your boyfriend!" he grinned, looking up at dream. "i didn't know how to ask and i didn't even think you really felt the same but.. yes!"

dream hugged him back, melting into the touch. "thank you. thank you more than anything. this is the best birthday gift george."

the hugged in silence for a moment, taking in the feeling.

"so, do you wanna open my present?" george spoke, blush washing over his pale face.

-

"okay, okay." a giggling, alcoholic breath spoke. "dream! truth or dare."

dream looked over at sapnap, a smile washing over his face. "mhhhmm, dare."

sapnap giggled even more, leaning over towards george and a few other people. they discussed for a moment before sapnap came back to his seat.

"how riskayyy are you willing to get, dream?" slurred words fell from his mouth.

"gimme what you got."

"alright alright, give your person of choice" sapnap laughed quietly for a moment, "cough cough george, a lap dance."

dream thunk for a moment, locking eyes with george.

"what's there to lose, here's to being eighteen."

dream stood up from the floor, walking over to the leather couch and taking a seat on george.

"30 seconds on the clock!" called out sapnap.

"30 seconds on the cock." responded dream, laughing as he wrapped his arms around george's neck.

he began to dance, drunkly laughing the whole way though. as "friends" to the public.

but only to the public this time.
