(Simon's Perspective)

*FLASHBACK*

I paced the room, unable to take in what my wife had just told me. I thought things had been alright. They haven't been alright, not if she's been shagging some other bloke for eleven months.

"I am sorry Simon, I should have just been honest!" She tried to calm me down, "anyway, hearing you talk about this Elizabeth girl so much over the past few days just confirmed that this isn't what I want or what either of us need. You're free now, embrace it."

Hah, as if it was that easy. I just need to embrace the fact that my wife has been unfaithful for nearly a year. Whatever.

"Beth is a friend of the band, and I am pretty sure Ricky has his eye on her. That's besides the point. 11 whole months of lies... Who is he?" I asked. "Alice, WHO IS HE?"

*END*

Turns out, HE is my brother. Sucks right? Your wife and your brother screwing right under your nose for practically a year. Then today I took the final blow, Beth and Ricky. I know, too soon to pursue another girl but now I would never be able to do it because she is falling in love with my best friend.

I don't know what it is about Beth, but she is captivating. The way her blonde hair looks golden under certain light or the way her eyes change colour depending on her mood. I notice that, but she doesn't notice me.

I can't help but resent Ricky a tiny bit. Three years ago, we were all nobody's just known for our music but since he has lost the wait, and admittedly become quite attractive it's all about him. I know that's not why Beth is with him but it still hurts a little.

Nothing helps a mood like this better than a singsong. Well, that's what has always worked in my favour anyway. A stress relief. Never our own songs though.

"So I stumble there, along the railings and the fences
I know if we're face to face then she'll come to her senses
Every drunk step I take leads me to her door
If she sees how much I'm hurting, she'll take me back for sure

[Chorus]
And my mates are all there trying to calm me down
'Cause I'm shouting your name all over town
I'm swearing if I go there now
I can change her mind, turn it all around

And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words
And she'll listen this time even though they're slurred
So I, dialed her number and confessed to her
I'm still in love but all I heard
Was nothing (nothing, nothing)

She said nothing (nothing, nothing)
Oh, I wanted words but all I heard was nothing
Oh, I got nothing (nothing, nothing)
I got nothing (nothing, nothing)
Oh, I wanted words but all I heard was nothing"

"You okay, mate?" Ricky approaches me in the darkened studio. I can tell by the look in his eyes that there is genuine concern there. I can't tell him now, it would crush him and I wasn't going be the one to do that.

"Everything's fine." I reassured him, standing up and patting him on the back as we left. I had to get over Beth, and I had to do it fast.
