Cherries and liquor

It's a warm summer day in July, the sunset is gorgeous, the whole sky is painted in a beautiful pinkish-orange color. The waves in front of the café are clashing, it smells like the ocean. A distant chatter of people and laughter of children could be heard. This scenery is making you feel very calm and happy. It's helping your fatigue feel better as it has been a long day at work. In about an hour you're going to be closing and finally enjoy your free time at home.

You work in a small pastry café as a waitress. It's located on a street right in front of the ocean. The café only has a few tables in front of it so it wasn't that much of a deal to serve the customers by yourself.

Honestly, you love your job. The boss is a very kind woman, you've never had any problems with her. She's very open and fun, she also lets you have a free pastry once a day. She loves young people, that's the reason why she let you work there, she just wants to help you with your life and you're so grateful for it. It's rare to find someone like her today.

You were quite popular at work because of your energy. You loved socialising and talking with all customers. Apparently, they loved talking with you too. Everyone told you how your gorgeous smile makes their day better and how some of them can't wait to come back later to see it again. You get love notes every now and then, offerings for marriage even. But you decline all of them... Somehow, no matter how good looking or how well off the man who wants you is, he never really catches your attention. You just kind of... Like another type of a man. Everyone else seem... Too boring. The problem is you don't know what exactly you're looking for. You don't have much experience in love. You never really had the chance to explore it. Yet you feel quite lonely and feel like that has to change...

--------------------------------------------------

You're resting on a chair behind the counter, reading a book. Your attention is so deeply caught in that book that you didn't even notice the new customer who had been calling for you for a while.

A sudden knock on the glass display case made you flip down your book and jump up, starting to blush from embarrassment.

-Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you! - you bow down your head.

The man chuckled.

-Don't worry about it, though you will have to pay me back the attention you didn't give me.

You didn't know how to reply to that, so you just smiled awkwardly. You felt like you have to respond so you shot up the dumbest question that first came to your mind

-Ahah, how am I going to do that?

-You're going to enjoy a piece of a cake here with me. It's on me.

You blushed even more. What was this man thinking? You didn't know him, actually you've never even seen him around, not to mention you're at work!

-Ah but I can't just leave my job like that, I'll get into trouble!

-I can wait until you're finished for as long as I have to, it's not a problem.

... Huh? Is he for real? Is he another one of those annoying men who are so pushy and just don't understand that you don't want anything to do with them? But yet, somehow... You can't help but to check his figure out. He's quite tall, dressed all in black. You could draw out a nice body under that huge coat. And he has beautiful silky red hair and a goatee with the same color that fits his strong face so well. His eyes though, oh so intimidating, staring deep inside you. His appearance is... Interesting to you.

You decide... Maybe why not this time? Maybe he's different from the others. Something in his eyes is telling you that you should dive in.

-S-sure... I only have around 20 minutes left, you can wait for me here.
