"Shit" Octavia breathed as she looked at the man that had emerged from her room after 2 hours.

She was researching so-called mythical humanoids, there were many- elves, faeries, witches, wizards, nymphs, vampires, werewolves and fae. She recognized it instantly, his pointed ears, longer than normal canines and his height were all clues to what he was.

Octavia had brought a fae into her apartment.

-Let me ask you a question. What would YOU do if you had brought one of the most dangerous 'mythical' creatures, known to man and story, into your apartment? Would you kill him? Would you try and make him leave, he could get hunted by the government? Would you care for it as you would a friend or family member? I've asked this to a wide array of people and they always said they would do one of the either extremes. Either care for the murderous beast or kill the defenseless creature. But, what would you do?-

As he exited her room, she dropped her cup of tea on her laptop and the contents of her cup slipped over the keyboard. She hissed as the hot liquid also got onto her hands and began wiping the liquid off the laptop, completely ignoring the tall person looking down on her. The skin stripped from the back of her hand and then began to bleed, never had anyone been so accident prone.

Once her laptop was free of the hot beverage she held a cloth to the burn. The stinging increased as she held the cloth on the back of her hand, when she removed it there was blood on the cloth that was fresh. Tears pricked her eyes as she ran it under cold water, oh how she hated fire and burns. When the pain eventually subsided it was still red raw, so she bandaged it and then resumed her seat at her small dining table.

The man joined her and sat there staring at the skin on his wrists.

"I can bandage it for you" Octavia suggested timidly.

"It will heal in time" He said and his fingers ghosted over the lines.

They sat then in silence, it was uncomfortable but better than painful conversation.

"What's your name?" Octavia asked him, getting his attention immediately

"I am Xavier, Xavier Black," He said "and you are Octavia Nicholas Rayne"

Her chin dropped when he said her name, how could he have know? It was her fathers name that was written on her locker in the Sector divisions and she had put her mail in the drawer.

"How do you know my name?" She asked weakly, still in shock.

"I will tell you at some other time but for now you need to pack your things and I need to bathe" He growled again and walked to her bathroom.

Octavia knew better than to question him although she had only known him for a matter of hours and grabbed a rucksack and began to fill it. As she filled her bag Xavier removed the hoodie and turned on the water in the shower, he only turned on the hot. Scorching water fountained from the head of the shower, steam soon filled the room- restricting his vision. He stripped off and stepped under the stream of boiling water, as it hit his back he jumped out of the way of the water. And into the glass door. It fell from it's hinges and smashed onto the floor, the noise echoed around her apartment.

Octavia heard the noise and rushed to the bathroom, she banged on the door and then opened the door. Xavier quickly put his canvas pants back on and stepped aside.

"The door broke" Xavier mumbled in almost what seemed like embarrassment.

"You are crap!" Octavia huffed as she opened the window to let the steam out of the room. "I'll get it fixed tomorrow but first I'll sort out the water since you are unable to do the simplest of tasks"

Once it was sorted, she left him to it and carried on packing the back, she had no idea how long she was going with him for. Once the bag was filled, she changed into a pair of black baggie skinny jeans, a sleeveless t-shirt and her black Dr Martens. Unsure of what else to pack, she left the bag and went off in search of clothes for Xavier to wear. From what she could remember he father was about the same build of him so his clothes might fit him well enough until he can get his own. Eventually she found a pair of black long pants, black t-shirt, boots much like hers but bigger and a jacket.

Xavier appeared from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, his ghostly pale skin even more haunting and his hair now a white colour compared to the dusty yellow it was in the sector.

"I require clothes" He grumbled at Octavia staring at his well defined torso.

She handed them to him and he took them without a thank you or a word of gratitude.

As well as her clothes, undergarments and toiletries, Octavia placed her phone, laptop and their charges in her bag. Hunger washed over her so she quickly made a sandwich and ate it in record time before Xavier could tell her to do anything else. When he left the bathroom he looked every bit a fae, his hair was how tied back at the sides and the clothes she had found him made him look like he was ready to take anyone down.

"Would you like some food?" Xavier glared at her when she asked.

"We need to leave now, take some with us" He grumbled.

He was insufferable and even took that to a new level. She made another sandwich for herself and two for Xavier before putting an apple each and some other food into her rucksack as well. To her annoyance he had taken her phone and laptop out of her back and put them on her dining room table telling her they are useless where they were heading.

"We have wasted enough time Rayne, we must leave now or we will be hunted"

Octavia assumed that was his way of making her feel better but it really didn't. She locked her door and slid the keys into her bag just in case she ever returned. Five flights of stairs later they were walking the streets of MC London and heading in the direction of the very edge of the City.

Heading straight for danger.
