『The Team Up』
(Re-edited)
•••
I walked around Olympus hoping to find Aries. I saw him on the training ground sparing with one of Talos's many clones. I patiently waited for him to finish. When he finally finished beating down the poor robot I called "Aries".
He turns his head at me, glaring. "What do you want?" he spat out in irritation
"Well...I was hoping" I started before he cut me off "I don't want to help you"
"Will you let me finish" I snapped, he just gave me a blank look. "I was hoping you'd help me find Zeus, " I said. He narrowed his eyes at me, walked up to me a little closer, and leaned down a bit to come face to face.
"Why would you think I would help?" He questioned. I smiled and leaned up a bit more
"He's your father," I said. he backed off to make space between us
"Why ask me, why not Apollo or Hermes?" He asked raising an eyebrow. I shrugged
"I don't know where Apollo is and Hermes is off running errands, plus I kinda sorta knew you'd be here you were my closest option," I confessed while taking out a small cloth and handing it to him
"What's in it for me," he asked, grabbing the cloth. I swear my eye twitched.
"Nothing, can't you just help me with this one thing,"
"No"
"Why not?"
"It's not my problem, it's yours," he said walking away
Think, Think, Think
"I'll join the championship," I spit out
He stopped and thought for a moment "Fine, I'll help, only this time" he said.
"Thanks,"
———On Earth———
I and Aries waited for Zeus and his son, Heron.
They were talking about the mountain before us and something about Adamantine ore. Once they stopped talking we watched Heron begin to climb the mountain, looking for whatever Zeus told him to find. The thunder flashed, and our shadows projected before Zeus. He gasped and whipped around.
Zeus sighed "How did you find me? Ares, Aldora" He questioned
"You betray your bidding, king of kings," Ares said, as he walked closer to Zeus. i stood back, observing. Zeus took the opportunity to morph back to his true form.
"I thought we were not allowed to intervene. Or does that not apply to you?" Ares questioned.
"I simply said we cannot fight for them, and that I have not done." He smugly. I narrowed my eyes at him. Zeus walks away, his back turned to us. Ares took off his helmet "Oh, I see. I'll make that distinction clear to the others." He said.
Zeus turned his head to the side " You'll do no such thing."
"then allow me to help you," Ares asked.
"No," he said flatly. "If men are meant to inherit the earth, they must do so on their own accord," Zeus said
Ares walked up to him and stood beside him, watching as the boy tried to climb the mountain tall mountain. "Then why do you come to this one's aid?" Ares questioned, watching the boy slowly climb. "Do you really think this bastard can lead them".
After a few seconds of silence
"I do"
