FLASHBACK
meeting school mystery number 8.
mitsuki-sama of the underworld."have you heard of this rumor?" "no, i haven't. what is it about?" "there's another school wonder!!" "really? what's their name?!" the anonymous girl put her hands on the table. "mitsuki-sama of the underworld." she finished. "they say that if you go by the big old tree in the garden and say your deepest wish. she'll appear and grant your wish. but if you leave without paying her in fish scales, then she'll bring you to the underworld and kill you!!"
"where do you get fish scales?" the other anonymous girl asked. "i'm not sure, maybe from a dead fish? no one knows anything else about she's kinda unknown." "oh, how exciting." "yeah, but we have to be careful! you don't wanna mess up and die."
"mitsuki-sama, will you grant my wish? come to me...please."
the wind blew hard. something—no, someone was coming. "hanako-kun!" a girl shouted. the anonymous girl saw a human figure appear. "i'll save you." the figure whispered and grabbed the girl. "ah, your name is nene yashiro. how adorable." the summoned person woke yashiro up. yashiro gasped. "hanako-kun!" she yelled. yashiro then looked around, she was laying in water that had flowers floating in it.
"a boundary?" she spoke. "you know what this is?" someone spoke out to yashiro from behind. yashiro quickly turned around to see a beautiful girl. "are you..." "mitsuki-sama of the underworld." she said, she had a blank expression. yashiro stood quiet and looked the girl up and down. mitsuki wore a off-shoulder white dress with lace sleeves. she wore white socks with bows at the top with no shoes.
her hair was h/l and h/c. some of her hair covered her left eye. "you summoned me." mitsuki spoke in a soft voice. "what is your wish?" she asked. "my wish...?" "you have a wish, right? you didn't come summon me and have no wish. i'll have to kill you if you don't say something." yashiro gasped. "why are you surprise, nene? don't you know my rumor?" mitsuki tilted her head. "i..." yashiro stood quiet.
"you summoned me without knowing anything about me?" yashiro ignored her statement and asked, "how do you know my name...?" yashiro took a few steps back. "once someone steps into my...boundary...i know their name! i know everything about them! daikon legs." she put her hands together, looked down and smiled. "yashiro nene, you don't need to be scared." she looked up. "i'm not going to kill his assistant." yashiro tilted her head in confusion. "for now." she whispered.
"you know that i'm..." "lord number seven's assistant? of course, he is my leader after all. let me introduce myself since you don't know anything about me." mitsuki lifted her dress about two inches high, she crossed her legs and bowed. her eyes were closed as a smile formed on her face. "i am mitsuki-sama of the underworld." she stood straight as her hands were on her hips.
"i am the most feared school mystery at this school. well, i'm the second. lord six is the scariest. anyways, i can grant wishes of the living." she twirled in confidence but as she stood in front of yashiro again, her expression changed. she had a mischievous grin as a shadow covered her eyes. "but i am not that innocent. my job is to grant wishes, yes, but if the person does not bring me a scale of a fish, they will perish by my powers." she got closer to yashiro. as she stared into yashiro's eyes, mitsuki's eyes grew blank and dark. they had no color.
"but you see, it's not any old fish scales. it's...the ones you ate." she then smiled warmly and giggled. "hehehehe!" "so basically whoever summons you dies right after..?!?!? how can you live knowing you're killing innocent people?!?!!" yashiro snapped. "live? i am not alive. i am dead." yashiro cooled off, realizing what she just said. "i'm sorry, i didn't mean to-" she apologized.
i am dead...
i am dead...
i am dead...
"i am...?" said mitsuki. those words were said repeatedly in mitsuki's head. she realized what she had also said. "i am dead." she repeated. she stood still, her expression cold and blank. she then snapped into reality, her head began to hurt, she rubbed her head as she fell to the ground. "yashiro-san, just tell me your wish so i can grant it!"
"i don't think so." said a voice coming from behind yashiro. yashiro recognized this voice and turned around to reveal a 4'11 boy with brown choppy hair and amber eyes. he had his cape on and his hat covered his eyes, and he had his knife in one hand. "you will not kill my assistant." he spoke. "hanako-kun!" "and minamoto kou!" said a golden blonde boy. he had beautiful blue eyes and wore the middle school uniform for boys.
"kou-kun too?!?" she shouted. the blonde boy stood next to hanako with a golden-yellow staff. "we're here to save you, senpai!" "oh, but..." "no need to say anything, get behind us!" "mitsuki-sama of the underworld, surrender now." "lord seven? what a surprise. you're forgetting one thing, though. i own this place." and with those words said, she disappeared. "lord seven, she came to me for a reason." her voice echoed in the boundary, hanako started to sweat. the trio looked around.
"i don't want to fight you. you are my leader after all." she appeared next to hanako and pushed him. kou came from behind her, she looked back quickly. huge vines of dead flowers grew a wall that separated her and hanako from kou and yashiro. "why do you want to get rid of me?" hanako got up, his knife in his hand. "why aren't you speaking?" she asked. "i have a question, mitsuki." he said with a grunt from getting up, his hand was on his stomach. "did that push really hurt?" he stood quiet. "listen to me." he said.
mitsuki bowed, "your question may be answered." "why are you doing this." "i'm only using...what god gave me. heheh!" she giggled afterwards. "rumor has it that you're getting the school wonder's yorishiros. did you send your assistant here to pretend to wish for something? so you can get me while i'm at my weakest? i'm afraid that won't work." mitsuki then changed the appearance of her boundary. it was a staircase, one similar to yako's boundary.
on top of the staircase stood a big tree, around that tree was water going down, much like a water fall! "i'm going to get rid of you first before you get rid of me." she walked closer to hanako. "i'll become a new leader." she lifted her hand up as vines of dead flowers grew behind her, "goodbye, school mystery number- WHA-" as lighting bolt shot behind her causing mitsuki to fall forward, she landed in hanako's hands. "let go!" she shouted. "get rid of me?" hanako said with a laugh. "as if." he finished.
"good job, kou-kun!" shouted yashiro. she gave a high-five to kou as they ran up the stairs. hanako pushed mitsuki off. a school wonder in her boundary going against another wonder and his friends. "is this what god chose for me?" mitsuki sat down by the tree. kou and yashiro had already reached the top, they stood next to hanako and looked down at mitsuki. she started to sing quietly. she closed her eyes and smiled.
"a whole garden of flowers..." she brought her legs in closer to her. "and my named etched on a rock." she stood up and walked towards the trio. "all this could've been avoided." her smile faded. she walked pass them and said. "all i wanted was to talk." and with that the school wonder disappeared. they turned around and saw no one. "where did she go?"
note/q: does anyone know the song mitsuki was singing?
