"Now being a witch or wizard is not just about the spells, but about the bravery and smart and logical thinking it takes," Professor Lupin started "Fending off a bogart is a very useful skill every witch and wizard should know."

Lupin's classes had been my favourite lesson so far. His unique energy and his way of teaching have been comforting in a way.

"Can we actually get to the good stuff?" a Gryffindor boy voiced from the back of the class.

"Patience is also what it takes," Lupin replied "As well as self-control, so today we are all putting that to the test. Now in this cupboard is each and every one of yours worst fears, so let's see if we can confront them."

The silence in the classroom was deafening.

"Now I'm sure you all know the spell to defeat a boggart from when Professor Quirrell taught you but just to refresh your memories we will go over it one more time, repeat after me. Riddikulus!"

As the class repeated the enchantment, my mind pictured what my worst fear was. I don't think I can expose that in front of the Slytherins and Gryffindors. The entire fifth year course would mock me for the rest of my schooling life.

"If you could all form a line from here," Lupin guided one of the Slytherin students who clearly didn't want to be first. The Gryffs followed quickly behind, fairly desperate.

I steered away from the line, away from all the chaos when I heard a voice from behind me. "Come on Wheezy, scared to face a little boggart,"

That fucking git

"Really Weasley, that's the best you could come up with?" I said crossing my arms.

"Oi not now Fred," Celena told him as she came to my side.

"I still don't know how you're friends with her Ce," Fred complained.

"Because I don't base someone's whole personality on what house they're in or what last name they have. You should try it sometimes," Lena responded back.

This girl loves me too much sometimes.

"Just fuck off Weasley, put all this unwanted anger on the Quidditch field or some shit," I fought back.

"Why's that Nott? So I can beat your ass this season?"

I narrowed my eyes at him "Yeah of course because the team needs you so badly with Harry fucking Potter on the team."

"Eloise?" Lupin's voice called out to me. Must have been my turn to face the boggart.

I sighed as I made my way up to the cupboard. Lupin put his hand on my shoulder as a way of comfort. "Now you've got this, you know the enchantment, just keep calm and level-headed and remember it is not real whatever it is that will form. Alright?" Lupin said in a whisper as he demonstrated how to stand. I really hoped that everyone was too busy with their own shit to be focusing on me.

"Got it." I took a deep breath.

"Perfect," the professor then opened the cupboard, and a shiver went up my spine. The whole room felt cold as he stepped out of the cupboard.

Theodore Nott Sr. My Father

He strode out of the cupboard with that same arrogance he always had. I could feel my hands starting to shake and my mind going foggy. The last time I saw him was before he went away to Azkaban. He somehow bribed the ministry to not send him away until the year before I got sent to Hogwarts. But he looked the same with those dead and empty eyes.

The same Theo and I share.

"Riddikulus," I tried the enchantment, but it got caught in my throat.

"What a pathetic waste of a daughter," He spat. I could feel my lungs emptying. I couldn't tear my eyes off of the ghost of a man in front of me.

"Please leave me alone," The tears started forming in my eyes.

"Can't even do a simple fucking spell without choking up like a pitiful little bitch. Just like your mother." I looked up at him, my vision blurred staring at his broad silhouette. "How disappointed would she be? I mean look at you on the floor crying and shaking like a deplorable cunt."

I couldn't do anything. His heavy breathing and footsteps coming toward me brought back too many memories.

"What about your poor little brother, your pathetic useless fucking brother," he smirked. He knew he had crossed a line as soon as Theo's name left his mouth. "Such disappointments the both of you. Such bright death eaters you could've made, you would have made me proud. But you're weak, weak like that brother of yours and weak like that inadequate coward of a mother that left you behind. That bitch never cared for you and Theo, not in the way I did. And if you had just listened to me, you wouldn't have turned out exactly like her. A cowardly little cunt."

"RIDDIKULUS!" I heard Lupin shouts at the boggart as it turns into an off-white balloon.

I was still on the floor shaking when I felt Celena come to my side.

"What the fuck was that? Are you ok?" Celena's voice sounded distorted as my ears were ringing. The next thing I knew was I was finding my way nearest empty room.

The only thing I heard was the footsteps following me.
