all you can remember from last night was tripping over something in the snow and getting piled over, you called out to your family as they ran to the cabin but how could they have heard anything in that storm?...you opened your eyes and realized...you're alive!, but how?...you felt a bandage wrapped around your head as you sat up, you then looked around the room before noticing just how big of a bed you were in, it seemed like a giant's bed...the blankets smelled weird and the furniture had what looked like claw marks on it...suddenly you heard footsteps approaching so immediately you looked around and decided to rush into the closet to hide...whatever was about to enter the room was defiantly huge judging by the bed...you covered your mouth as the door to the room opened and surprisingly light footsteps creaked on the wooden floor...a deep voice spoke....
???: "strange...thought I left them here..."
something walked around the room before you heard it coming towards the closet, and after a few moments of silence...you peered into the crack between the closet doors but could barely see anything in the dark, as soon as the closet doors opened, you screamed in surprise, swinging your arms at it in a panic but...a bear?! caught your hands...it was wearing some kind of baggy cloth as pants, the bear looked into your eyes....
???: "quite a fighter"
you tried speaking but nothing came out of your open mouth except a squeak, your heart was still pounding from the fear and now a talking bear?!....
???: "right...you probably don't see much of my kind anymore"
the giant brown bear let go of your hands but you were still too shocked to say anything, guess you must've hit your head harder than you thought....
???: "sorry if I startled you but you need to get back in bed"
you stared at him before shaking your head....
???: "I'm sorry small one but until I know that your wound has healed, my care for you is not up for debate"
you backed up into the closet wall as the bear got closer to you and tried fighting back as he picked you up before carefully placing you back into his bed....
???: "please calm down"
you continued to stare at him as he checked your forehead with his paws and then tucked you in....
???: "stay here while I get you some water"
Y/n: "...w-wait!-...um..."
what do you even say in a situation like this?....
Y/n: "wh-...where am I?"
???: "...you are in my cabin...I found you buried in the snow during my nightly patrols, you were close to death so I brought you here"
the bear leaves the room before returning with a large canteen of water, he held it up to your mouth so you could take a few sips....
Y/n: "...why are you helping me?"
???: "it is my duty to guard over all who come through this valley"
Y/n: "...tsk...didn't know bears were so intelligent"
