It was a chilly day. The ever shining ball of hope and warmth was hidden behind a depressing cloak of clouds. The world was mocking him. But it was fine, as he always said. Shuffling down the riverfront street, holding one of his dear notebooks to his chest and carrying all of the sorrow he has suffered on his shoulders, came Izuku Midoriya. The unordinary thing about him was that he was ordinary. Just a 15-year-old Middle Schooler from a well-known school in the city, not too rich, not too poor, Scholar and oh, yes. Quirkless.

'Look at him, he is quirkless!.... Poor kid, born normal... He thinks he can be a hero? Without a quirk?! Is his brain in the right place!!... such bad luck... you should take a swan dive off of a roof and pray that you get a quirk in your next life! Stupid Deku!!...'All of the insults, opinions and gossip ran through the kid's mind. All of this was normal to him, he always had his faith in his god. To him, it was the symbol of peace and number one Hero All Might. But, even that golden stature of the hero shattered into pieces. 'All M-Might, c-can I be an h-hero like y-you?... n o.' Even that god seemed fake to him. As if the day was not sulky for him, the rain added salt to his wound, a wound of disbelief to the heart.

The street was less lively now, everyone's plans were washed away. He still kept to his route to nowhere, unfazed by the cold rain. Taking a deep breath, he leaned on the railing. Facing the misty River flowing under his feet, the sound of the city and its various noises slowly fading. The splashes of water started to tone down for him. 'What is my fault?' he thought, 'That I was born quirkless, that I was unwanted to this world. I just wanted to be a hero, someone who brings smiles to people's faces. I tried, I tried everything. So this is the power of fate? You can't even choose your way of living?'. Reading through his notebook for one last time, he threw it away. Watching it fall towards the river, he thought again, 'You are right kac- Katsuki, I AM stupid and'. He stood up on the railing opening his arms to embrace the unknown. 'I should just take a swan dive and end my life here. Maybe I will be the strongest hero in my next life?' He takes the leap. 'I am going. Goodbye'. He shuts his eyes and readies himself for the cold splash.

'I- I am alive? But I should have hit the water by now!!'

"Hey!!!"

'Huh?? I am Floating? Did I leave my body?'

"HEY, CAN YOU HEAR ME?! GOD DAMN IT!!!"

"H-huh?"

"Thank heaven! Now grab my hand! Quick!!"

"W-wha- huh- wh-"

"Quickly! I can't hold you anymore!"

"O-okay!"

He took the mysterious hand of the girl, he could not see her due to the rain but the voice was definitely of a girl.

"Are you okay? Did it hurt anywhere??" she was a brunette, big round eyes and from her clothes, she was also a middle schooler.

"No, I am f-fine". He said, in a dim tone. He didn't die. She? Saved him?

"Phew~ now, WHAT WAS THAT STUPID STUNT MISTER?!" she barked at him. It was out of concern and worry though. "What were you playing with? Jumping off the edge of the bridge like that? Was it a quirk stunt? Then for your information, that's Illegal!!" she added.

He was speechless. Not because of the situation and what angel was sent down to help this piece of nothing. But due to the lack of an answer. He started to squeeze out the water from his soaked dress as the rain had stopped. She eyed him in confusion.

"Can you tell me why you jumped down the bridge right now? Please?" she now asked in a very soft tone, again out of concern and worry. "I can't," he replied coldly. Slowly he started to walk away. "U-um what is your name?" She asked as the last attempt, out of curiosity that came from just nowhere. "Izuku Midoriya". He answered from above his shoulder. Slowly the Sun was getting out of the dense clouds, the light shining between the cracks of the clouds. "My name is Ochaco Uraraka! Hope we meet again!" she beamed at him. Both went on their ways.

Tall darks building towering over the small shadowy street. Izuku was still in his trance, still wishing to just end all of this suffering in one blow. He didn't notice that it was already evening. Not even where he was going. He was just walking, aimlessly. But then he heard something.

"Today's Breaking News!! A slime Monster went on a rampage at the market district!" The TV came to life suddenly. Izuku was startled and adjusted his eyes to the visuals. It was the same monster! The uneasy feeling of strangling and feeling like your breaths are being counted came back to him as a nightmare. His hands reached for his neck as if some phantom tentacle was gripping it tightly.

"A young middle Schooler, Katsuki Bakugo, attacked the monster in an attempt to rescue the poor civilians. All of the pros couldn't do what he did, saving a kid from the slime monster! In the End, All Might arrived on the scene to finish it off with a single blow!"

'As expected of both of them. They are truly strong, I wish I could do something. I am just useless after all Deku thought. Slowly leaning on one of the closed shop's shutters.

"You are wrong," said a mysterious voice from the shadows.

"W-w-who is there??" Izuku said, in fear.

"You are selling yourself short, young Midoriya" the voice ignored the question and continued. "You possess a talent that neither of those two has. You are brilliant as what you are, Izuku."

"W-who are you? H-how do y-you know m-my na-name?" The frightened kid asked once again.

"It doesn't matter what I am, what matters is what you are and what you can be?" The figure came out. It, It had no face??? It was a purple mist figure?

"Your talent, Midoriya, it is very useful"

"H-how do you have my notebook??" He asked again, seeing his half-burnt notebook in that man's hands.

"Your talent is far too good to be washed away. You should not give up on your life. It is valuable. Maybe you don't see it, but the people that care for you? The people who wait for you? Your mom must be waiting for you with dinner at your home. You are not useless to her, for her you are a hero. So don't give up your life here and stand up to face this harsh biassed society that rots of greed and filth" The figure gave a speech, and it worked. Midoriya wasn't crying anymore, he was feeling alive. But still, one question was bothering him: "What do you want from me?"

"It is not me, but my master who wishes to meet you. Would you like to come along?"

"Yes"
