Magic

There was a door. A dark, tall, brown oak door. The reflection on the gold handle caught my eye, calling out to me like the green calls out to Liam. And just like him, I couldn't resist the temptation. Slowly, I stepped towards whatever waited for me on The Other Side (by Jason Derulo), and reached out...

I opened the door and stepped inside...

Darkness. Nothing but darkness. A darkness so completely dark, I couldn't even see my hand right in front of my face.

"And who are you?" a raspy, sexy voice boomed through the room.

I couldn't see anything. Where was I? Reaching behind me, I discovered that the door had disappeared ; there was no escape.

"Who. Are you?"

The voice reverberated through the air, sending shivers down my spine.

I took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of something familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. "Mrs Derulo," I lied.

"I don't think so," the dark voice chuckled. "No, I think you're lying to me..." The sharp sound of a match was the only warning of the light that suddenly blared thoughout the room, illuminating a huge library. And him. He was jorgasmic. Absolutely jorgeous. "...Ellena." he smiled, his sharp white teeth glinting in the candlelight. It was the most jeautiful smile I'd ever seen, and I couldn't help but stare. Everything else suddenly faded away, it was all irrelevant. All I knew was his mouth, and that it needed to be on mine.

Suddenly the jexy man was right in front of me, staring into my eyes with an intensity so powerful, I couldn't stop the blush crawling up my neck if I tried.

"I said, what are you doing here?" he whispered, eyes flicking all across my face, like he was trying to devour me with his gaze alone. I could hardly think, let alone speak. What was happening to me? He was making me feel so many things, things I'd never experienced before in my life. Suddenly he grabbed my face, tilting it up with a roughness that I welcomed.

"My eyes," he got out through gritted teeth, "are up here." Slowly, I raised my eyes to his, and he inhaled a sharp breath as blue met a brown so dark, it was almost black. It was mesmerising. I couldn't breathe. His eyes were a pool of the darkest, most delicate chocolate, and I was Augustus Gloop, drowning. I was surely about to die.

"You're jextraordinary. " he broke the jexually charged silence, and I startled, looking away and breaking the eye contact. I took heaving gasps of air, finally able to breathe again. Why was he having such an effect on me?

"Who are you?" I breathed, refusing to look at him. He stepped forward, sealing the gap between us, the floor creaking under his weight.

"Oh I think you know who I am, love," he whispered in my ear. And then it hit me. Sandalwood. How could I have forgotten. I'd know that scent anywhere.

"Daddy Darkles?" I gasped.

"Ah, there's a good girl. I knew you'd come back to your daddy." he purred proudly, stroking a jensuous hand down my trembling face.

A flood of memories came rushing back to me. No. It couldn't be. What had happened? I took several quick steps away from him, until I was backed against the wall.

"No. No. It's not possible. I killed you. You were dead. You can't be here. You can't - "

"Yet here I am."

"How? How are you here?"

"Don't you know, love?"

I shook my head, refusing to believe this was real. This couldn't be happening. My heart was pounding for a different reason now. I felt sick. How could I have had those thoughts about him just minutes ago? How could my body have betrayed me like that?

"I thought you were a better girl than this. Daddy is very disappointed."

He cocked his head to the side, shooting me a musing look. "You really don't know? " He stepped closer, pinning me against the wall and leaning down into my face. He brushed his fingertips against my cheeks, gently cupping my face. And his breath traced my skin as he whispered...

"Magic is real."
