It was getting close to dusk and activity at the pub was starting to pick up though it was still a ways away from the full swing it would hit during the night. The girl making a scene wasn't local, but she didn't seem to have an accent or think much was out of place which indicated she might be from a nearby town or village. She made a bit of a show making basic little illusions for a while, it wasn't anything particularly special but the girl was cute in spite of some odd aspects of her appearance and had decent stage charisma. Her chaperone looked rather put upon but aside from a sour look he didn't raise any issues he may have had with her actions. After both audience and performer were bored of her routine she moved on to games for a while. When that was done she went straight up to the biggest guy in the bar and sat across from him.

"Wanna arm wrestle?"

"Excuse me?"

"Hmm, you're not too drunk are you? You've been drinking here since early afternoon. I wanna try you at arm wrestling."

"Who are you girly?" Max asked looked her over with a skeptical expression.

"Name's Syrene, I'm just from a couple towns over. I've got a bit of a boring layover for a bit, so I'm trying to kill time," as she answered she made a few gestures that were probably meant to be cute but really just kind of annoyed him. She was certainly distinct looking, one probably wouldn't forget her, with her big eyes, one green and one eye, brown hair with a white streak and lighter blonde highlights dyed throughout. Even her skin was two toned, most of it was brown but there were sizable pale patches around the sides of her face, down to her neck, along the sides of her torso and limbs.

"What's with your look there?"

"Dunno, started when I was six, anyway stop trying to change the subject, I know you're just scared to lose to a dainty little thing like me."

"Fine, just to shut ya up."

He made a point to shove her hand down in a hurry to get back to solitude but faced the surprise of her hand not moving in response. She gave him a little smirk and he grabbed her wrist with his other hand and pulled as hard as he could. She put his hand down with a swift motion and got up with a laugh and flexing her skinny little arm.

"For shame," her chaperone sighed as she leaned on the bar next to him.

"Ah, don't be like that," Syrene dismissed him as she hurried away from the big flabbergasted man.

"It's irresponsible to cheat like that."

"Pfft, give me a break, I'm bored. Do we really have to hang around two more days? Would it really be so wrong to head out early?"

"I'm not going to go over this again," Gilliam sighed and adjusted his glasses.

"Excuse me?" Syrene turned to see who the conversational intruder was and recognized the elf that had been in there almost as long as they had.

Syrene wasn't sure whether this elf was a he or a she in between the massive, stocky looking body but feminine face. There was also one other point of confusion though it probably didn't really matter. At any rate the mini giant of an elf had been slowly working down the same drink over the course of hours. This was the first she'd heard the elf speak and the voice seemed womanly as well.

"That was earth magic there wasn't it? You strengthened yourself, but earlier you used light magic to cast some illusions."

Syrene was about ready to laugh, she'd tried to be discreet with that but apparently she had to refine her act. Gilliam next to her tensed up a lot however, glaring up at the elf with suspicion and hostility.
