It was sunday afternoon. I was just about to get on my skiis, and go for the skiing lift. I was spending the weekend in Dublin at this skiing hotel since I enjoyed skiing. My friend was supposed to join me, but she got a fever and had to stay home, so I went by myself. My name is Alex by the way. Alex Denver. I'm 21 years old and live in London. I live in a cosy little appartment, just outside of Essex. I work at starbucks coffee at the moment, since I haven't had time to finish up my last studies. The last years has been both emotional and psyichally stressful. I'll admit I am still a bit unstable, but it's getting better, and my friends are really helping and supporting me.
I tied up my slalom shoes, and took on my skiis. I went over to the skiing lift and waited in a short line. I was most truly to be on the next lift. I saw a few people in front of me jumping onto the skiing lift, it was almost full. Everyone except one went up with it. There was this girl who stood left after all the people went with the lift. I suppose me and her would go with the same lift. I watched as she sat herself into the lift.
-Are you going to the top? I asked her. This time I got to see her whole face, and I could tell from these very few seconds that she was absolutely stunning. I don't know what it was, but it was something about her, maybe her eyes that made her very interesting.
-Yeah. She replied.
-If you don't mind, I join you! I said cheerfully.
-Of course, jump in. She smiled. Well her smile obviously made her even more beautiful. I sat myself beside her on the skiing lift, and pushed the button.
-I'm Alex by the way. I said, and took out my hand.
-Nice to meet you Alex, i'm Piper. She smiled and shook my hand.
The lift-trip was going smoothely till then. I heard a terrefying sound in the lifts, almost if it was to fall down. Piper grabbed my hand as if it was a reflex. I didn't mind her hand on mine although. It made the situation a bit more relieving. We both we're kinda scared, unsure of what was happening. Then the lift stopped completely, and the noises disappeared.
-Oh fuck sake. I heard her swore under her breath.
-I think we're stuck. She sighed annoyed.
-Oh crap. Maybe they will fix the problem soon? I said trying to light the mood.
-Last time it stopped, they weren't able to make it work within 2 hours. She spoke.
-Shit. That's kind of a long time. Let's make the best out of it though!
She looked over at me, slightly giggling. Probably because i'm kinda weird and suprisingly positive when it comes to situations like this.
-So where are you from? I asked.
-London, but i'm with some friends here for the weekend. What about you? She asked politely.
-I also live in London, just outside of Essex. I replied smiling. She was so cute with those big, green slalom glasses on top of her head.
-Ahh cool! Do you have any interests except from skiing?
And this is how our conversations went on. We just sat there, stuck 10 meter over the ground, talking and laughing. We got to know eachother alot though. I got alot of eye contact with her as we talked. And I felt this connection. It's not just something I say for it to make it sound cheesy or anything, but I really felt like we had something. Chemistery, that's what they call it?
After half an hour, the lift started going as usual again. I kinda wish there was more time, cause I loved speaking with her, and getting to know things about her. Maybe somewhere not so cold though, but still.
-Thanks for keeping me with such company. It would be seriously boring if i'd have to be stuck alone. She laughed as we stood on top of the empty hill, ready to race down.
-Thanks the same. I had great time talking with you. I smiled. She smiled back, and there was a bit of a silent eye contact. You know those cheesy TV-scenes where they look intensively at eachother before they are about to kiss? Yeah more like that, just not the last part. That would be too soon. I think.
-Wanna race down? I'll buy you a cuppa if you win. She winked, then adjusted her slalom glasses.
-Sure. I said, eager to win the race. If I won, it would be a win-win situation for both. I made myself ready to skii down. I looked over at Piper. She looked very competitive. Just as me.

(A/N Just saying that this is not Alex and Piper from OITNB :P
