Two years had passed since that incident. Those members of the family were sentenced to life in prison, but not even the children believed that was enough for them. Their family was strong, very strong, in fact. The judge was probably showing sympathy for some odd reason that the children couldn't comprehend for the life of them.
But, today, was the first day of school for all of them. They tried to get through life the best way they could, even though no one wanted to be friends with them because of the things their family did. But, they didn't blame the watchers, if any member of your family gets a bad reputation, then you're automatically like them by association alone. That was pretty much the case for them. But, they didn't mind.
They'd created a better life for themselves, after the trial, they were almost put into an adoption center. But, Illumi was able to convince the officer to let him be their guardian since he was about to turn 18, at the time. But now, Illumi was nineteen years old, Killua was eighteen, and the twins were ten years old.
Killua and Illumi attended the same school, which was only about a fifteen minute walk from their house. So, their mode of transportation was walking, even though, they did indeed, have a car. A pretty good looking one too, but they only used it when they were traveling far distances, which was rare.
"Hey twins, you guys up?" Illumi called from downstairs.
The twins came running down the stairs, cheerful as ever. "Hey Aniki." They said.
"Goodmorning." Illumi said, patting both of their heads.
"Do you guys know if Kill's awake?" Illumi asked, placing plates full of pancakes in front of them.
"We didn't check," Alluka admitted.
Illumi nodded and walked up the stairs, slowly, Once he made it to Killua's door, he slowly knocked. "Kill?"
No response was heard. Illumi repeated the knocks, only a bit louder this time, "Kill, it's time to get up."
After not receiving an answer yet again, Ilumi walked inside Killua's room. Killua was shaking and whimpering. He was having a nightmare. Though it was rare for Killua to have nightmares, when he did, they were very troublesome as well as worrisome.
"Kill?" Illumi called out to his younger brother while he shook him harshly. When Killua had nightmares, it was hard to wake him up. It was almost as if he had been sucked into another dimension where nothing was going right. It's like Killua had the choice to wake up, but it really wasn't a choice. Like he had to do a difficult task in order to be able to wake up, and if he couldn't complete the task, he would be stuck in that world until he could.
Illumi watched as tears began to fall from Killua's closed eyes. He watched as Killua's face began to turn tomato red. He watched as Killua began trying to wake himself up by attempting to inflict pain on himself. He watched everything. But, he wishes he didn't have to. He couldn't take watching this horrific sight. It almost made s few tears fall from his eyes.
"Kalluto, bring me a cup of water!" Illumi yelled.
A few seconds later, Kalluto ran into the room, holding a cup of water as requested from his older brother. Illumi threw the water onto Killua's face.
That was the trigger that was needed to wake Killua up. He sat up, breathing heavily, coughing a bit. A few seconds later, he ran into the bathroom and began puking into the toilet. Illumi walked in behind him and sat on the counter top, keeping his distance as he held Killua's hair back. Since Killua was a wolf, his hair grew at a fast rate and it was very long at the moment since Killua had opted against cutting it for a long time.
