"alright bye guys. Hhmm moms home that's weird. I walk through the front expected to find my mom in the living room but she's not here.
"Hey mom?!" I call out, no answer.
"Mom?"
I ran upstairs to her bedroom, i open the door
"M-mom?!"
"NO MOM!"
"Please no mom, you can't be"
"No this isn't happening"
I ran downstairs crying, trying to find the phone. I grab the cellphone off the table and dialed 911.
"Operator"
"911 how may I help you?"
"I need the police and ambulance, there's something wrong with my mom"
"Ma'am what is your address?"
"3265 Julie street, Lafayette la."
"Ma'am I'm going to need you to breathe, we're sending the police right over and the ambulance. Is there anyone else in the house?"
"No it's just me right now"
"Okay ma'am, the police is at the house right now""Mia's POV"
"6 years later"
It feels so good to be done with high school! I'd never thought I see the day where I would finally graduate and I'd finally be able to move on with my life.
During my last semester I got an application to Juilliard University, they want me to attend in the fall. It's a scholarship for my four 4 years of college there. I was discovered by them through my dance school. They said I was recommended by my dance instructor.I'm 18 now and I just graduated high school, I graduated at the top of the class and it's amazing. But my story doesn't start from there. My life wasn't normal growing up. When I was 12 years old, my mom committed suicide. I remember getting off the bus from school. I saw my moms car in the drive way. I walked through my front door and expected my mom to be in the living room, and when I didn't see her I called out for her and I heard nothing. I figured she was in her room taking a nap and I went upstairs and walked in my parents room having to find my mom hanging from the ceiling fan.
It was horrible. It's something I thought I would never have to go through growing up, and I did. I remember my dad racing home from work to comfort me and had the cops show up and everything. My dad always put the blame on me and saying it was my fault my mother killed herself. My dad forgot about the whole thing and moved on from it.
About a year later we moved out of Louisiana, to move to Washington D.C where my dad got a new job. He was the senator of Louisiana. So we moved. I made friends a lot of friends. But I had 3 really close friends.
Malayshia, Alexia, & Taiya. They were the first people I met when I moved to Washington D.C.Nothing was ever the same again in my life. Until today, the day I would be able to move on from everything. My friends and I are on going to Coachella, a music festival in California for our senior trip. It's going to be awesome!
We planned this for a really long time. Since my dad was really high up there in the country and everyone knew who he was. It was really really easy to get the unlimited package for the festival.
Our flight leaves the day after graduation to head out too California. It's a long flight from D.C, to our destination. The day has arrived where we finally leave for Cali! We check through security and we head to our seats in the plane. The flight attended comes on the intercom
"ladies and gentlemen please take your seats and sit back and relax. We have 5 hours until we arrive to California."
After she said that I sat back put in my headphones pressed play to Florence + the machine and drifted off the sleep.
