Michael sat in the waiting room, reliving the events of what was supposed to be his brother's birthday party. He was the one that tormented his brother for days, horrifying him with the thought of having to spend another second around the animatronics at the new pizzeria. All he could do was sit there and see his brother falling limp in Freddy's mouth over and over again. The way his screaming just...stopped...haunted him. After the bite happened, the entire place had gone quiet, the only sounds produced coming from Bonnie, dancing as if nothing had happened.

Michael's leg bounced as he took another quick glance around the room. His mom and dad were both in the room with Evan, so he was left to sit with the Emily family. Henry paced the room while his wife sat on one side of Michael, reading an old, outdated magazine she found on the small table beside her seat.

On the other side of Michael, Charlie, Henry's daughter, slumped into her seat. She was tired but didn't want to show it. She had been trying everything she could to make Michael feel better, from telling him all about a movie she'd just watched or sharing her snacks with him she got from the vending machine in the corner. This time, she came back with a Hershey bar. Charlie carefully peeled back the wrapper, trying not to break it.

"How many rows do you want?"

"Hmm?" Michael asked.

Charlie motioned to her candy bar. "How many rows do you want? I can break it in half and we both get two rows, or I can give you three and I get one. Up to you!"

"Why would I get three rows?"

"Because you're sad. When I'm sad, you help me feel better. It's my turn to help you feel better!" Charlie broke three rows of chocolate off of the bar and offered it up to Michael.

Michael pushed her hand back and took the single row of chocolate from her other hand. "You can have the big piece."

Charlie curled up against his arm and began eating her candy as a "Breaking News" story came on the TV. On the screen was the pizzeria and a reporter, spewing off information of the night's events. "Witnesses say they saw a young man, possibly a teenager, lift a screaming child into the mouth of an animatronic before forcing the mouth of it closed. Was this an accident? And could this be somehow tied to the 'Missing Children Incident'? Stay tuned for more information."

Henry grabbed the remote from the table and turned off the television, then threw the remote back onto the table. "I'm sorry you have to deal with this Michael."

"I should be the one apologizing. I did this."

Mrs. Emily patted his back. "It was an accident. Let's worry about this later."

"You guys should be at the Pizzeria dealing with this," Michael pointed out.

"And leave you alone in the waiting room?" Henry asked. "No way. The reporters can wait, family cannot."

A nurse walked into the waiting room and looked at Michael. "Come with me, honey."

Michael started to leave, but Charlie silently stopped him and gave him one last hug before he left. As they entered the hallway, Michael could hear his mother sobbing. The nurse stopped in front of one of the doors and began to open it as the alarm clock in the hospital room began going off. It grew louder and louder, each buzz hurting his ears more and more. He couldn't go into the room, instead staying in the hallway while he covered his ears, beginning to sob. He pressed his back against the wall as his legs began to collapse under him. He slid down the wall until he was nothing more than a ball on the floor. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't move. All he could do was sit there and sob until he opened his eyes once more and found himself in bed.
