(Y/N)'s mother's POV:
It's 8pm. (Y/N) should be asleep by now, and her friend should go home. Don't want them missing their flight.
I walk up the stairs to (Y/N)'s room. Its quiet. Suspiciously quiet.
I open the door.
(Y/N) and Mitch are sleeping together on the floor. I check where his hands are. Just in case. He's hugging (Y/N), and his hands fall right before her waistline. Good. Since (Y/N) is on his chest, her head bobs up and down peacefully, following the rhythm of Mitches chest. I call Mitches parents to let them know the situation.
"Is it okay if he stays for the night?"
"Yeah sure, it will be alright."
His mother sounded dismissive, but who am i to question her parenting skills?
"Okay great! Would you like for him to wake up early to say goodbye before leaving?"
"Nah it will be fine."
"Oh okay then, have a good night!"
I hung up. She doesn't care about his well being? Oh well. At least he has me.

My daughters alarm wakes me up at 3am.
I listen for any movement.
Nothing...
They can sleep through that?
I walk to her room to make sure.
Yep. Still asleep.
Grabbing the air horn on her desk, I ponder whether or not I should do this.
The answer is yes.
(Y/N)'s POV:
the sound of a blaring air horn jolted me awake.
I jumped off of Mitch and sat back.
Mitch also flinched too, and sat up.
"Mom!!! It's 3am!! Why would you-"
"Your flight. Are you ready?"
I look at Mitch.
"Why couldn't you have waken us up the normal way?"
"Because I wouldnt have been able to use the air horn. Now, Mitch, you can go shower while (Y/N) eats breakfast. I bet (Y/N)'s dad has clothes that will fit you. (Y/N), help Mitch find something to wear and then show him where the bathroom is."
I walk Mitch to my mom's closest and pick him an outfit.

"Why this?"
He says, inspecting the clothes.
"Because you have no style. Now cmon."
I show him the bathroom.
"Don't waste all the hot water."
He looks over his shoulder to me.
I never realized how small I am compared to him....
"I make no promises."

My mom drove us to the airport.
"So Mitch..."
She began. He looked up from the book he was reading. It was Lord of the rings. I never took him as a reader. Let alone a book like that.
"Yes Mrs. (L/N)?"
"I called your mother last night. She knows you where at our house. Do you guys have a strong relationship?"
Wow mom. So direct.
"Uh, I guess. We don't talk much, but it's okay since she and my dad work a lot. I have siblings too, but there always busy. So I keep myself busy at work. "
He opened his book and continued reading, signaling to my mother that this conversation was over.
The rest of the drive was quiet, until my mom reached our gate.
"Hey Mitch."
"Yes ma'am?"
"You can always come over and hang out with me and (Y/N). I bet she'd love it."
Mitched looked at me. I smiled. If I knew how lonely he was, maybe I would have been nicer. But it's never too late for a change. Mitch smiles back.
"Ya think she'll want me?"
Before my mom can answer for me, I speak up.
"Sure. You're pretty good at building legos."
"Thanks."
