The whole day went by like this. Kevin didn't wake up. Michael stayed but I asked him to leave. I was not angry with him but I just didn't want anyone right now around. Around us.

.

"Bella" I heard a weak voice. Guess I slept while waiting for Kevin to wake up. "Bella" another whisper. I looked up and Kevin was awake and calling me.

"Kevin" I gasped and hugged him.

Ouch~

"Oh, I'm so sorry I totally forgot. It must be paining a lot" I backed off when I realised he is hurt.

"It's okay. I'm used to it" he replied with a weak smile.

Maybe he isn't lying. He's a mafia after all. It's their everyday work but still, I can't see him hurt.

"No one ever gets worried for me" he stated regaining my attention to him. "Maybe dad did but I don't really show my weak state to anyone".

"You are a human too. Of course, it will hurt when you get a freaking bullet in you. You don't have to act hard all the time. Not in front of me".

He looked at me and signalled me to come near. " You want something?" I asked.

"Yes," then he kissed me softly. It was one of those kisses in which he felt the most vulnerable and he didn't fear to show me that side he even feared to show his father.

I broke the kiss and cupped his face. I kissed his forehead. "You know I was so scared. I thought -

"Shhh," he put his finger on my lips. "You are not getting free from me this easily Mrs Evans. Remember we have our deal".

I chuckled. "That didn't include the things we did here".

" It was the bonus for being a good girl".

"Well thank you for your generosity Mr Evans".

" But now-  he stood up and sit straight leaning his head on the headboard. "It's time for us to go back. It's time New York welcome its king again. It's time for my arrival".

I scanned his face for a brief moment. " Wouldn't it be dangerous?"

"It was never safe Isabell".

True but I just feared. I gathered up my strength and asked him the question that was bothering me. " Why are these men after you? What is it they wanna know from you?"

He hesitated. "It's okay if you don't wanna share. I'll go get something for you to eat" I stood up to go out but he held my wrist.

"Sit"

I did as he said.

"I'm the fourth generation of the mafia who rule over New York- he looked into my eyes and continued. " There are a total of five families who have their shares over New York city but only one can be the ultimate one the other four has to work under the ultimate one." He took a breath and continued. "Every generation a treaty is being signed to confirm the mafia of the next generation. Before, my mother was the mafia head"

"Your mother?" I asked shocked because first, it was new to me that women got to lead but I was proud to hear that and secondly the mention of his mother because I never saw her.

"Yes, she was quite the charm. I still believe my father married her to enjoy the luxury. So my mother and that generation mafia group decided on a name for this generation and it is believed that it was me but someone turns out to be the traitor and they wanted to change the name and hence they tried to steal the treaty which was kept safe by my mother " his expressions became tensed.
