It was coming from upstairs.
"Kyle!" Ellisa screamed, slamming the cellar door shut and sprinting towards the staircase.
She hustled up the stairs and into the third door on the left. She gasped. Kyle was shredded, like he was thrown through a cheese grater. The parts of his body randomly strewn around the room. His eye balls sat in the middle of the room, picked apart by the looks of it. In the corner was a single black crow. It's beady black eyes glared at Ellisa, as if telling her that she was next. She turned on her heel and bolted out of the room.
Down the long staircase, sweat dripping down her face. Ellisa needed to get out. She rushed to the front door and pulled at it. It wouldn't budge. She twisted the lock every way that it would go. Not even a little movement by the big oak threshold. Throughout the house, Ellisa heard scratching, roaring and growling. She sat on the ground and covered her head.
There was no way out and she was living in a haunted house. All of a sudden footsteps came echoing, slowly down the hallway. They kept approaching- eerily, as if whoever was coming was taunting her. The footsteps got louder and louder, until Ellisa felt something right next to her.
Slowly, and shakily, Ellisa lifted her head and peered at what was in her presence.
