Her Riddle

Part 6- secrets

Cedric wrapped his arm around Kyra and walked her to her dorm. Standing outside of the painting Cedric turned to Kyra to look into her deep blue eyes. He pushed a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear and smiled down as he took in all of her features.

"What are we Cedric, I mean I've only known you for a month at best " Kyra started anxiously

"Whatever you want it to be sweetheart, we can start slow but I know that I like you, I am in awe of you and I want to know you better" he said with a smile

With that he kissed her, deeply. He detached their lips and disappeared down the corridor. Kyra entered the Ravenclaw common room and threw herself at an empty armchair. She found comfort in the silence as everyone else had gone to bed. She got to thinking. She liked Cedric but a relationship wasn't on her to-do list. She slept soundly that night, despite the thoughts aggressively floating around in her mind.

A few mornings later, another assembly was called. It was time. A flurry of student hurried their way to their seats and there was immediate silence in anticipation as Dumbledore approached the stand. He stood before the cup and the once blue flame turned an angry red. A piece of parchment spat out of the top. Viktor Krum was the first to be selected. This news was met by cheers as he stood, he received a handshake and stood behind Dumbledore. Then Fleur did the same. The crowd went silent as the student for Hogwarts was about to be selected. Kyra was overtaken by nerves. Her leg bounced underneath her involuntarily as her worst fears were confirmed. Cedric's name echoed across the hall. Kyra immediately faked a cheer of excitement. Cedric stood with a huge grin on his face, in an instant he had picked out Kyra's face in the crowd and smiled at her as he approached the front of the hall.

Dumbledore began to speak addressing the crowd and introducing the contestants. But as his back was turned, the goblet yet again turned an angry red. Snape was the first to notice this and a look of fear and confusion spread across his face. Dumbledore turned to face the goblet as it made hissing noises. One last piece of charred parchment spat out of it. Dumbledore snatched it out of the air and as soon as he read the name his face dropped from fear to anger.

"HARRY POTTER" He bellowed

The room filled with confused chatter as he was met with furious stares. He made his way to the front and was introduced as a contestant.

After the hall was emptied, Kyra didn't see much of Harry as he had to deal with the terror and shock of being selected. He was adamant that he hadn't put his name in the cup. Ron had been furious at the news. Kyra tried to help Harry the best she could and give him supportive glances as he walked passed her but every interaction was met by a disapproving scoff from Ron. The cold tension between the two boys had pushed Kyra away and she spent most of her time lay under the trees with Cedric and his friends. The first round of the tournament was to begin the next day so anxiety levels were high.

In that moment everything that could go wrong did. All of the "potter stinks" badges had taken the school by storm. Harry marched outside in a daze to see a blonde haired slytherin boy perched in a tree.

His comments were torture for Potter and everyone noticed that they had started to anger him. Kyra began to sit up as she planned to head over to help him. She excused herself from Cedric and headed over.

"Leave him alone!" She shouted while plucking up courage out of nowhere

A chorus of "oos" echoed from the boy and his friends.

"Got yourself a girlfriend Potter?" He said with a snide smile

Neither of them answered.

The boy jumped down from the tree and started to walk towards her. As he did so he ate her up with his eyes, darting across her entire body. He stopped just infront of her face and placed a finger under her chin bringing her face to look directly at his own.

A deeper smile spread across his face.

"You never told me the new girl looked like this Potter" he said

"Shut it, Malfoy" Harry said before steering her away from the boy.

"Who was that?" Kyra asked

"Draco Malfoy, I would stay away from him if i were you" he warned before smiling and heading off in a different direction.

That night, when lights were off in Hogwarts, Kyra had a disturbing feeling, as though something was terribly wrong. She couldn't shake it, she rolled around in bed and even went to sit by the fire. By midnight her thoughts were no less intense.

She had had enough.

She exited the Ravenclaw common room and headed towards the Gryffindor room.
She made sure to step ever so carefully. She nearly ran in to Filch numerous times and had to take a different route.

Being friends with Ron came with it's positives as he had managed to let slip the password to their common room. Once inside, Krya found her way to Ron and Harry's room. She was careful to be quiet while rummaging through Harry's belongings. When she had found what she was looking for she left without a second glance despite both boys stirring in their sleep.

Her plan was in action. Kyra wrapped Harry's invisibilty cloak around her shoulders and then around her head. Her whole body was completely invisible.

Kyra trapsed lightly around the school, corridor after corridor, she simply let her feet drag her wherever they wished. Soon enough her aimless wandering came to a stop as hushed whispers could be heard.

Kyra got closer to the staff room in which all Professors at Hogwarts were able to attend.

Kyra stood directly outside of the door which was ever so slightly ajar.

"Severus we must sheild her, she is just a child! She must not find out" McGonagall was heard saying

"I say we simply let it unfold" Snape responded

"Albus surely youre hearing this nonsence" she said again angrily

"Severus, I agree with Minerva she needs protecting. Shes a new student in the fourth year, she is in grave danger. She must not learn of her father, Severus would you be so kind as to watch over her?" Dumbledore cut in

"Certainly" he responded

Kyra made the mistake of releasing an audible gasp drawing the attention of all professors to the door. Snape approached the door and brought his head to poke around it. With no sign of anyone, he returned to the conversation and shut the door with a slam.

In a dizzy haze of emotion, and a blurry vision of tears Kyra ran until she saw a trio of slytherins approaching. She stopped and covered her mouth with her hand. Draco walked straight into her and with a grunt he looked confused at the invisuble mass that had blocked his path.

He shared a laugh with his friends Crabbe and Goyle

"Look what we have here fellas, I bet its Potter with daddy's pathetic invisibilty cloak" Draco muttered

With that he raised his arm to pull down the cloak. It was a shock to find Kyra.
