Chapter Nine - One For All

As the battlefield cleared, all that was left was All Might and All For One. Both the Sky Knights and the Shadow Collective were gone. The larger battle of Musutafu was still raging. All For One chuckled. 

All For One: Can you hear that, All Might? Can you hear the sound of your precious Terra's destruction?

All Might: AS LONG AS I AM STANDING, THERE IS STILL HOPE!

All For One: Is that right? This fight has so far proved me correct. You're getting old, All Might. All that strength is slowly fading. How pathetic. And to think that the people of this Terra look up to you. 

All Might: SHUT UP! I WON'T HEAR THIS DRABBLE FROM YOU! ALL YOU DO IS TOY WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES! YOU BREAK THEM! STEAL FROM THEM! YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE AND MANIPULATE THEM! YOU SNEER AT THEM WHEN THEY TRY TO LIVE THEIR LIVES IN PEACE! AND FOR THAT, I CANNOT FORGIVE YOU!

All Might then charged at All For One and attacked him with a series of power strikes. The speed of these attacks initially caught All For One off guard. As All Might landed a powerful punch on All For One's face, the force of the blow shattered the helmet, revealing All For One's disfigured face. 

All For One: Getting awfully emotional, aren't you, All Might? I seem to recall hearing those exact words once. From your master, Nana Shimura. 

All Might: YOU KEEP HER NAME OUT OF YOUR FILTHY MOUTH!

All For One: That fool of a woman who put her foolish ideals first, without even an ounce of power to back them up! And even with such belief in her ideals, she still died like a dog. 

All Might: ENOUGH!

As All Might readied to deal the finishing blow, All For One grabbed All Might's fist. He follows through with a devastating punch on All Might's stomach. The force of the punch sent All Might flying back several feet. All For One gets up, annoyed. 

All For One: What a nuisance. 

All For One then gets up and walks towards All Might who was recovering from All For One's attack. 

All For One: Oh how long I've waited for this moment, All Might. Oh how long I've waited to show the world what you really are: a weak and pathetic man. All of Atmos will soon see who their Symbol of Peace really is.

All Might: You....you might have the upper hand on me, but I'm not done yet! My....MY SPIRIT IS STILL HERE! MY SPIRIT IS WHY I AM THE SYMBOL OF PEACE FOR ATMOS! 

All For One: How wonderful! You're just like a stubborn child! But I have one trick up my sleeve. I wonder if THIS is enough to break that spirit of yours. Tomura Shigaraki.....is the grandson of your beloved master Nana Shimura!

As All For One revealed this information, All Might was in a state of shock. The smile on his face fell as his spirit took a heavy hit. 

All Might: You're....you're lying! 

All For One: You and I both know that this is the truth. It is true because that is something I would do. Take the grandson of Atmos's greatest Sky Knights and turned him into a Cyclonian agent. An agent of All For One. I've engineered every encounter between the two of you. And with a smile on your face, you attacked and beat him. In his dying breath, Lightning Strike believed in you. Even as I wrapped my hands around his throat, choking the life out of him, he still believed in you. 

As All For One taunted All Might, All Might's heart sank. All For One mocked All Might further. 

All For One: Well well, that's strange All Might. Where is your smile now? How very entertaining. I believe I've taken a piece of you after all. I've done what no other person could ever hope to achieve. Not Master Anarchis. Not Master Cyclonis. None of them could ever hope to break the Symbol of Peace, except me. I broke the Symbol of Peace. I took his spirit and crushed it! How does it feel, All Might? How does it feel to stand on this monument to your failure? Do you feel sad? Full of rage? Or does that outfit help bury your feelings, hiding your true self? Gaze upon me, All Might! Gaze upon the man who broke you! 

As All For One continued to taunt All Might, all hope seemed lost. The Cyclonians were about to overrun Terra Musutafu. But as all hope seemed lost, he thought about the day Nana Shimura took him as her apprentice. 

Nana: When you have to save someone, they're usually in a scary situation. A true hero saves not only their lives, but also their spirits... That's what I believe. So no matter how scary things get, give 'em a smile, as if to say, "I'm a-Okay". The people in this world who can smile are always the strongest. If you feel yourself hitting up against your limit, remember for what cause you clench your fists... remember why you started down this path, and let that memory carry you beyond your limit", believe in this and you will achieve anything!

As the words of Nana Shimura rang in his ears, a fire lit up inside All Might. Despite all hope seemingly lost, All Might would not give up. He would uphold his title as Atmos's Symbol of Peace and stand against All For One no matter the cost.
