"There we go." James stated in a calm voice. "No more letter opener." Cora now without a weapon, watched him intently. "I'm going to keep this, you don't seem in the best mood to be allowed a sharp object." James said wile twirling the letter opener in his hands before securing it in his pocket. He then spoke again "I was told you 'fell in love' with one of the pirates taken into custody. Wich one is it?" Cora was silent, fearing what they would do to Irene if they knew it was her. James annoyed by the lack of a reaponce began to list the confirmed names of the pirates. He watched Cora's reaction shift from worry to fear when he mentioned Irene's name.
"It's Irene isn't it?" James asked and Coras reaction made him sure that it was Irene. He didn't say anything else and left the room. Cora stood staring for a moment, frozen at the thought of what he would have happen to Irene. "Oh god-" She mumbled before searching her room for something to somehow get out of her room. In her search she found a decorative item that ended in a point. Deciding it would be good enough she hit it agenst the window sevral times. The window finally broke when the point was all that hit the window. Part of it shattered and when she hit it yet again. Enough of the window was now shattered for her to slip through without cutting herself too severely.
She found herself atop the tiles of the roof. The click of her boots on the rough tiles made a loud sound, each step had to be calculated or else she would slip and fall. Grabbing a flag pole to keep herself balanced she looked out at the castle before her to map out how she was going to get to the gallows. She slid down the roof, catching herself on another. This felt a lot like traversing the cavern just easier with the predictable nature of the rooftops.

Irene was blankly staring out the barred window, waiting for something. She blinked slowly, her eyes burning from how little she blinked. The cold metal of the cuffs being what was keeping her grounded. The long creek of the door to the outside sounded, Irene glanced over at her door to see who it may be. She expected it to be the exicutioner. Her eyes widened and she got as close to the door as she could seeing Cora. "Oh thank God they haven't done anything yet." Cora spoke relived reaching her hand through the bars. Irene put her hands through the bars aswell, as the sound of metal on metal rang out. Cora held Irene's cheek, relief visible in her expression. Irene leaned into the touch, a soft smile plastered on her face. "I'm so glad your ok." Irene muttered into Cora's hand. "Of corse I'm ok, it's me they want anyway." Cora replied as Irene hugged her as best she could, her cuffs chain now laying on Cora's back.
"This is it, Isn't it?" Irene asked "W-what do you mean?" "I'm at the gallows again, how most all pirate's leave this earth, my crew is here too. I'm at least fortunate enough to get to say goodbye to the person I love most before I do leave. Irene spoke, the hours of solitude knowing how close yet far those she loved were from her but not knowing what they were going through was a special kind of hell that broke her. It's not every day you see a pirate give up hope in escaping a bad place. "No- Were going to get you and the crew out of here." Cora responded before what Irene said really dawned on her. "Wait, the person you live most. . . Irene-" her voice quivered as she shifted her gaze from the bars to meat Irene's somber stare. Irene simply nodded understanding the implied question.
Cora let out a sound that was a mix betwene a laugh and relieved sob. She did the best she could for a hug. The pair kissed as relief washed over them. After a moment where they spoke effectionate words to one another they shifted their attention to getting Irene out, Hope for leaving returned to Irene. Cora used the bars on the door to get higher up to see if she could break the top hinges or do something. She flicked at the hinges and the pin juggled in the sleve. "It's loose but I can't pull the pin out." Cora said trying to reach up to unhinge it but she was too short to reach it. " Get down, I'm going to try." Irene responded, soon reaching up for the hinge. "Fuck, I can't get it up it needs to be twisted from the top."
Sevral minutes were spent trying to undo the top hinge. Stomping came from down the hall and Cora glanced at the source. Of course it was james. And of course he had guards with him. "Crap." She muttered and frantically tried to undo the pin "cmon cmonnn-," She pleaded quietly, fumbling clumsily at the iron hinge. She was yanked away from the bars. She screamed and kicked about in an attempt to get free. " LET ME GO!" Cora screamed out as Irene rattled the bars demanding for them to not touch Har and to put her down.
Of corse these demands were never met and whatever threat was thrown seemed empty in James' eyes. The guards dragged Cora away. "IRENE! LET ME GO JAMES!" Cora demanded attempting escape. The attempt was futile and she got dragged away, the entire time fighting agenst the guards holding her back.
She was brought to another room. It was a guest room and had nothing pointed or sharp and was at the end of a hallway. She was left in there alone and she was ment to be left in there until the day her and James were ment to be Wed.
