Prologue

Y/N POV

"HERES TO SURVIVING THIS HELL HOLE" Jean shouts as he raises a pint of beer, something he probably stole from Commandant Shadis's quarters

Tonight was the final night before the 104th Cadet Corps would graduate from our 3 year training camp and we were celebrating like hell.

The mess hall erupted into cheers following Jeans words of inspiration. My table and I chuckled before going back to our dinner. Sitting around me were my closest friends: Reiner Braun, Eren Yeager, Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, Bertholdt Hoover, and Annie Leonhart. Not to say that I wasn't friends with others like Sasha Braus or Connie Springer. Hell, even Jean Kirstein was someone I could sneak some alcohol with, but those main 6 were the ones i was closest with.

"Dumbass needs to shut the hell up before the commandant hears" Reiner says

"He probably won't graduate if that happens" Armin laughs

"This is it guys" Eren says as he stands up, "We're done with this training camp bullshit. Now we get to fight actual titans"

"You're gonna get yourself killed if you underestimate them" Mikasa says emotionlessly

"Let him" Annie rebuts, "If after all these years of training he goes out and dies like a dumbass, he deserves it"

Mikasa shoots her a cold stare which Annie reciprocates

"Calm down Annie" Bertholdt says as he tries to stop the stare down before it became an actual brawl

"I'm not gonna die" Eren says confidently, "I'm gonna kill every single one of those bastards"

"I'll see it when I believe it" I remark

"You don't believe me?" Eren asks

"You ranked 6th in the class and don't excel in anything physical or with ODM gear. So yeah, I don't believe you" I respond

"I don't like the tone of your voice" Eren says getting in my face

"I don't like you period" I say getting back in his

He punches me square in the jaw. I laugh.

"You punch like a vegetarian" I laugh before I tackle Eren onto the table and start beating the shit out of him

The whole mess hall starts to crowd around us and chant "Fight, Fight, Fight"

Mikasa then pulls me off of Eren and prepares to fight me. She throws a right punch that I grab. Then she throws a left that i also grab before head butting her. Hard. This causes her to stumble back before Reiner grabs me and pulls me away

"YOU EVER PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME AGAIN ILL BREAK YOUR FUCKING LEGS YEAGER" I shout before the Commandant busts through the door

"Are you ok Eren" Armin says as he and Mikasa walk over to him

"HEY MAGGOTS" he shouts, "WHAT THE FUCKS GOING ON HERE!!!"

"Y/N started beating the shit out of Eren and Mikasa" one of the other cadets says

"Fucking snitch" i mutter

"SURKUDO! YEAGER! LETS GO!!" Shadis commands

We both get up and walk out of the mess hall. Shadis walks us over to holding cells. Fights happened pretty often so Shadis made holding cells for the fighters.

We stop right in front of the holding cells, if you call them that. It was more accurate to say that Shadis had repurposed outhouses and locked people in them overnight. Smell and all.
