A/N:
Hey guys, this is my first fan fiction and it's about Luke's twin sister, Kateryne. It's a mediaeval spelling of Katherine, and it is pronounced as Katherine for those of you wondering. This book will follow her life in high school and falling for Michael, then the sequel (and possibly a third book) will follow her living with the band, doing her own job, and dealing with the fans. Please be patient as I don't have loads of time, and I'm idiotically starting this near finals.
Please don't hate, what is written in this book from POV's is not necessarily my point of view - say if a character is racist (the main characters won't be).
Thank you, I hope you like it

Kateryne's POV:
"Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
It'll be, better than before
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's goneDon't you look back
Don't you look back
Don't you look back
Don't you look back now
Don't you look back
Don't you look back
Don't you look back
Don't you look back"I strummed the rest of the song, my acoustic guitar ringing through my bedroom, vibrating off the walls and probably making a racket in the house.
Not soon after I finished the cover, my twin brother Luke popped his head around the door. He was wearing thick rimmed green glasses and his hair stuck to his face, his cheeks slightly chubby and eyes strikingly blue against his blonde hair. "Hey Kateryne, I was wondering, could you, uh - well, um, teach me th-the guitar? Um please... It's just I want to be good at something and I don't want mum to have to pay for lessons and you're good and you can teach me and you're my twin and-"
I giggled, cutting Luke off on his sentence, "Of course I'll teach you, come here. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be a famous guitarist and will have to admit that your stunning, amazing, beautiful, fabulous, fantastic twin sister had to teach you!" I laughed more at my mocking and over exaggeration of my 'talent'. I patted the bed beside me, Luke quickly sitting down with me.
Sliding my guitar strap off my neck, and giving Luke the guitar and pick I began to explain basic chords to my adorably nerdy twin. Starting with the easy Em chord (E minor) I placed his fingers on the correct strings and frets. I then moved his hand to strum the chord with the pic the correct way. The guitar made a soft hum in the air and Luke looked at me, as if asking for approval in his assisted playing.
"This chord is Em Luke, and I want you to hold the guitar like this-" I paused to move his hand to hold the neck of the guitar, not holding the notes anymore, "And I want you to spring your hands into the position and strum." He attempted this two or three times, getting it right after a while.
I nodded encouragingly when he was doing this, and corrected him when he was wrong. "Luke, I want you to be able to hold the guitar with your fingers off the fretboard and be able to get a perfect Em chord, whilst making eye contact with me for the whole time. This will get you used to relying on your skill not your eyes as you play, and will help as you get more advanced."
I continued to teach Luke like that for the next three hours, and he mastered the seven main and basic chords to play:
Em
C
G
D
Am
E
AHe was ecstatic by the end of the lesson, and I leant him my guitar I upgraded from earlier in the year to practice on.
As Luke left I giggled, hearing the seven chords being played over and over by my brother in the next room over.
It was the day before we started high school and I was really nervous. We had to wear a uniform, and who looks good in a uniform? I was petrified of being shunned and bullied, people not liking me and shunning me.
Not much longer our mum walked through the door, shouting that she was home. I ran downstairs straight away, seeing my other brothers Jack and Ben, both of whom went to a different school. I had gone downstairs when she called, however Luke was a different story.
Mum decided she wanted to see Luke after coming home from inset at the school we'd be attending tomorrow, and decided to call his full name, "Luke Robert Hemmings! Come down this instant"
Within seconds my twin had rushed downstairs to the door, not wanting to face mums wrath.
That's one thing I really dislike about my family - I'm the only daughter. That in itself is not the problem, but mum used all the boys names she liked on Jack, Ben and Luke. However, she knew after me that she wouldn't have any more children, so here I am, stuck with the weirdest name imaginable.
Kateryne Genevieve Rosetta Adelaide Elizabeth Hemmings.
And my brother complains about having Robert in his name.
My theory is that she wanted all the girls names, and realised she only had one girl. Therefore I got stuck with all of them.
Dad says that she wanted me to have a few more too, but he said that six parts to my name was the maximum he'll accept.
Thank god.
Apparently she wanted to add one Arabella and Blanche.
I laid the table, and soon we sat down to a family dinner, the last one until we started hell.
I'm sorry this is a filler to get you to know the character a bit.
