New Life...?

Chapter 2

I wake up at 6 A.M sharp. I get dressed in the work uniform. I brush my hair and pull up part of it in two mini-buns. I hear Sister Luka call out to me. I open the door to be met face to face by a teal haired girl. Her hair was pulled up in two messy buns. Her green eyes glazed with worry. "Mother, sister Fauna has been killed by the demon, for she tripped and landed on the 7th step heading to the second floor. Grandmother said you are to take her place as Miss Coral's guardian." Luka stated calmly. "I will attend to Madame Coral now. Thank you for telling me. You are dismissed." I sighed. Luka gave me a bow and went to her assigned student. I stalk my way to Coral's room to wake her.

"Miss Coral?" I call out when I arrived. "Please, call me Ruby, Fauna." she opens the door. "One, when addressing the others call them 'sister'. Second, my name is not Fauna." I say, amused. "O-oh... What are you doing here? Where's Fauna?" She asks curiously. "I'm your guardian at this school. Fauna died for she tripped and upset a guest by breaking a rule." I say, annoyed by how many questions she's asking. "O-oh... Okay. You're here to get me dressed and take me to somewhere?" She asks. If it weren't obvious enough! I screamed mentally."Yes, Ruby." I say, keeping my calm. "May I come in?" I ask, very agitated. Ruby noticed the annoyance in my voice and moved, allowing me in her room. I walk in and grab a uniform. "Come." I ordered. She came over to me allowing me to get her dressed in the girls uniform. It was a black dress with pink hems on the skirt, around the top of the shirt part and sleeves.

I pull her hair in a pony tail and put the hat on her. I then slide on the fishnet stockings and black and pink heels. "Done." I tell her. "Too much black!" she whines. "Sorry that you can't handle the uniform. If you want you can leave this school." I state. "Follow me. Orientation will be starting soon."  I say. "Why do we need an orientation?" Ruby asks, following me down the hall. "To head over rules, what house you'll be in, and other basic stuff." I answer. "House?" she repeats. "Yes. Moon, Dark, Haunted, and Ghost are the houses. You'll be sorted. When you are, the color of the crescent on the uniform will change to gray, red, faded pink, or white, resembling your house. You'll also meet other new students and pre existing students. We head over the rules after every break, keeping them glued in the mind." I say.

The rest of the shot yet long walk was silent. When we got to the gym, I pushed open the heavy metal doors. The doors responded with a loud creek, alerting sisters, grandmother, and students, new and old. I guide Ruby to the first grade seating area and look for the seat that has "Ruby Coral" on it. I found it next Luka's assigned student, Luna Dark. "Hello, Mother Saku." Luna greets. "Hello Lua." I respond, using Luna's nickname."Is that the new girl, Ruby?" She asks curiously. "Yes. This is Ms. Coral. Ms. Coral meet Ms. Dark, Ms. Dark meet Ms. Coral." I say, sitting down in the seat behind Ruby's, Ruby doing the same. "WELCOME NEW AND OLD STUDENTS AND SISTERS! I AM GRANDMOTHER AKILA! THE HEAD OF HAUNTED CRESCENT BOARDING SCHOOL!" Grandmother Akila greets. "Akila?" Ruby asks. "It's an Egyptian name that means 'intelligent'." I answer. "Hm. Interesting." Ruby mutters.

Grandmother Akila continues on with her speak and gave everyone their school house. Ruby got in house Haunted, meaning I am going to be moving to the Haunted dorm area. The moon on her uniformed changed to the color of my hair. She sat down in front of me as Grandmother was preparing to start the rules. "Students, new and old, listen carefully to what I am about to say, for these rules are to be listened to in order to survive." Grandmother said, her voice heading dead serious. A sister went around passing "Haunted Crescent Boarding School k-12 Rule Guidebook" to new students. "Those books are to stay here. I will tell you the rules today, but if you need a refresher, that book will be in your dorm and posters in every room, every hall, every locker, everywhere. Now, the rules." Grandmother said, preparing to speak again.
