" I'd like a room for one, please. " You say to the Wangshu Inn staff, handing her a bag of Mora. " Alright! Your room is the one that's close to the balcony view. " Verr Goldet says, handing you your room keys.
You smile, taking the keys and walking up the stairs up to your room.
As you walk up the stairs, you see a guy, standing at the ledge of the balconies railings. Since you had nothing better to do, you decide to go converse with him.
Walking up to him, you put your hand out, trying to get him to shake your hand. " Hi, I'm Y/- " Before you can introduce yourself, he gives you a cold look before disappearing, a bright green flash blinding your sight for a second. " How rude.. Yet, so intriguing. " You say, planning to ask Verr Goldet about him after you unpacked your items.
15 minutes later, finished packing
"Verr Goldet! ~" You shout her name, nearly sliding down the stairs as you make your way to her. "What is it, dear?" She replies, averting her attention from her black cat to you. "Who's the short guy creeping around at the balcony?" You ask, making her look at you in surprise. "Ah, so you've met Xiao already. That's odd, whenever there's a newcomer he usually hides in his room."
Xiao. So that's his name? Xiao. It feels weird in your mouth. "Oh, alright then. I'm gonna go try to talk to him again, he kind of disappeared when I tried to approach him." You say, scratching your cheek. She chuckles as she picks up her cat and places it on the ground.
"I suggest you bring him almond tofu, he loves it. Basically just bribe him with it. I have a recipe, if you want." She says, digging out a piece of paper from her drawers. She hands it to you, which you gladly accept. "Thank you! Ill be headed out to go gather all these ingredients." You say, happily skipping out of the Inn with the recipe in your hands.

"Aaaand, that should be it!" You say, wiping the sweat off your for head as you hold all the ingredients closely. As you slowly walk back to the Inn, you hear growling noises behind you. Confused, you look back and notice a mitachirl charging at you with it's axe. You panic as you didn't bring your polerarm, since you didn't expect danger so close to the Inn, getting ready to take impact, you suddenly see a bright green flash. You look up confusedly, gripping the items in your hands tighter.
To your surprise , you see the same guy you tried to approach earlier in the day. Who was none other than Xiao, of course.
In under a minute, Xiao defeated the mitachirl. Quite impressive, you haven't seen anyone as swift and agile as him. As you were about to thank him, he jumps into the air and disappears again.
You sigh, getting up and running to the Inn, hoping to not run into anymore potential danger, and you wanted to make the almond tofu for him too.

You steadily bring the plate to the balcony, silently praying Xiao was there. To your relief, he was. "Xiao!~" You say happily, holding out the food. "Can we talk?"
He looks at you surprised, seeing his favourite food in your hands. "What is it, mortal?" He says, holding back the urge to snatch the Tofu. "Do you have time? I have almond tofu~" You say cheekily, causing him to turn to you completely. "I guess so.." He says, hesitantly leading you to a nearby table. You smile, placing the plate in front of him as you nod, signalling for him to dig in.
He takes a bite of it, testing it. His eyes light up, and he starts hungrily gobbling it down. "What did you want again?" He says, his mouth full of your cooking.
"Honestly.. I dunno. I just wanted to know you better." He looks with you at a confused face. "You came up here.. Just to chat? Humans are weird." He says, turning his line of sight away from you and to the setting sun. His face changed, and he no longer looked tense. He looked at peace with you. You smile and admire the sunset. This would be the most memorable sunset you had in your lifetime.
