Chapter 2

2 Year Later

(Y/N Pov)

Y/N hung about his apartment resting from his recent adventure with Joel and Tess waiting for the next time they needed me i made myself out to be a great part of the team using my own methods to show them how thing could be handled differently for example using my clicker head to attract infected to a certain area of the building.

Like usual a note was slipped under my door this was how Tess did things this time it said to head to Joel's apartment for something important the same  crappy excuse Tess used to downplay boring jobs, Instead of knocking i walked in to find Joel asleep on his couch and to come into contact with a girl we both were startled by each others presence.

"Who the fuck are you?" i asked she looked at me holding a pocket knife "you tell me who the fuck you are first" she stood there her hands shaking like crazy "i'm Y/N i work with Joel" i said to diffuse the situation she seemed to calm down lowering her knife.

"Now want to tell me your name?" i said looking her straight in the eye "sorry about the knife i'm Ellie" she sat down on a chair taking a breather "Well nice to meet you" i said looking out the window it was raining now.

Y/N: So what you doing with Joel 

Ellie: He's taking me to meet some fireflies

Y/N: You're joking me why would he do that for now?

Ellie: Look you don't have to be an asshole about it he is doing it as a favour to Marlene something about guns 

Y/N: I guess Tess is out confirming it 

Ellie: I think

Y/N: Great want to play a game of cards to pass the time?

Ellie: Yeah sure

(Later)

"This rain ain't going to do us any good" Joel said as we were walking "I'm actually outside" Ellie giggled i couldn't help but smirk at this "With this you'll see all sorts of things " i could see her smile at what i said we got to to a semi truck and climbed aboard to get up this hill it was parked on.

Joel stepped out first just to be met with someone hitting him with the butt of their gun they pointed the gun at Ellie and I we got down on our knees "you scan them I'll call it in" one of them said i saw the nervousness on Ellies face grow.

Once the guy scanned Ellie she sadly said "Sorry" she stabbed him the leg i acted quickly grabbing him from behind stabbing my knife into his neck using his gun to take out the other one "Shit" Ellie scooted away "Never had to do that before" i looted the pockets of both officers 

"Oh shit look" i heard Tess saying tossing the device to Joel his face said it all "What is it" I asked "Marlene set us up" Joel handed me the device saw it say that Ellie was infected i threw the device on the ground "God damn it" i shouted.

I looked at Ellie my hand on my pistol "I'm not infected" she said i just scoffed "these devices don't lie" i walked over to her she flinched revealing a bite on her right arm "it's three weeks old" "No, everyone turns within two days so don't bullshit us" Tess walked over to Ellie.

Hands on my hip i couldn't believe the situation we had going on Joel and Tess were arguing about what to do now Joel started walking away "Oh shit run" we looked to see a car coming Tess acted quickly "Go. Go! Move" she grabbed Ellie off the floor running with them i looked back to see the guards find the body's.
