"Marco, Julieta, David," I greet looking at the man who I did not recognize at first when he came to my school not so long ago with his niece and nephews.
"You killed my brother, so I will kill yours," Julieta threatens.
I bring my eyes back to hers. "Julieta, your younger brother should have known that he should never threaten a Russo it will lead to death," I say calmly looking between the two siblings and their uncle with a calm composure I do not remotely feel.
I have a pounding headache from being beaten until consciousness. My lip is swelling from my split lip that needed stitches and my body is drained of energy.
"Oh, I plan to threaten and kill a Russo today," Julieta snarls gripping hold of the gun until her knuckles are white. "Either you will die or your bastard brother."
"Brooke, I don't want to die," my brother cries which makes my heartbreak at his fear.
"Aww, he cries for you to help him. That is so sad, but can your bullet be faster than mine?" she asks tilting her head to the side and smirking at me.
Her brother comes up behind her and takes out a knife and twirling the knife between his fingers waiting for me to move first.
"If you kill him my father will torture you until your intestines are lying on the floor in front of you," I threaten slowly taking a step forward while I have them thinking of the risks if they killed him.
"I think we will take that risk," Marco says stepping up beside his sister.
A large object slams into the ground causing the ground to shake. Dirt and grass fly upward as the object gets planted into the ground. I take this as my moment of distraction and run fool force towards the startled siblings.
I lift my right hand holding the gun and shoot David-their uncle in the chest near his heart. Julieta lets out a grief-stricken cry and runs to her uncle's side clutching at his bleeding chest trying to stop the bleeding.
"You bitch," Marco screams reaching for the gun in his thigh holster.
I grab my brother who fell to the muddy ground when Juilette rushed to the dead man on the ground. I pull him behind me holding onto his arm just in case I have to fling him away from me.
I shoot the gun flinging his gun across the ground and into a bush. I steady my hand as I point the barrel of the gun to Marco's head. "You threatened my brother for that I will take you and your sister's lives and the Gómez family will be wiped out," I say as comely as I can as my brother presses his teary wet face into my thigh.
I can feel the vibrations of the gun as I press my finger into the trigger releasing a bullet that leaves a penny-sized hole in Marco's forehead. Blood dribbles down his forehead and nose leaving a bloody trail in its wake. Marco collapses like an accordion falling to the mossy wet ground with a pool of blood flowing seamlessly around his lifeless body.
