The silver coin was lacking luster these days. His shine just seemed a little bit more dull. No one had noticed he'd lost weight. Not even Box! His best friend, Box, seemed to be off these days, so he couldn't even vent to them. Nickel picked up speed, ticked off, he was climbing up a rather steep hill. There he would be able to see the stars, and all his problems could wash away. TK seemed to be even more nagging on him, to the point where it seemed like she was picking on something deeper. He always snapped back, because that's just the person he is. He wasn't always right, but he was never wrong. None of them could understand. It was a way for him to let off some steam, even though it made people hate him. Why should he care anyway? Even if he didn't act the same way he always did, he would still be hated. Better to be himself.. right?

As Nickel reached the top of the hill he spotted a familiar, annoying, red blob that had taken his spot!

"This is MY spot!" He snapped, "but oh SURE you can have it this time, because EVERYONE likes you a WHOLE LOT." The red ballon looked up at him, his eyes looking the same shade as his plastic. He had been crying.

"Alright." He said with a straight face, wiping himself off. Nickel was in shock. He hadn't thought that balloon was a crier. All he knew about the guy is that he was a bad dude. Did he really think he meant everything he had said?

As Balloon disappeared from view he thought about all the mean things he'd said to that guy. He had actually hurt him. He didn't mean to but- he just couldn't help himself. He knew that everyone hated him now, especially Balloon. He was the rudest to the pink puffy dude, but he thought that balloon wouldn't take it to heart. He had hurt Balloon. Just like everyone else. Up on the hilltop, gazing at the stars, Nickel felt very alone.
