XXIV. Cordelia

Regulus was sat at the Ravenclaw table in between Curan and James. Across from them sat Pandora and Xenophilius who were discussing the newest attack, the three other boys listening and occasionally stating their opinion. "It's bloody insane, Reg! She was only eight." Pandora yelled in pure disgust and frustration. Regulus nodded.

"You think they would have at least took a break after they killed Remus's dad, but they didn't. I don't know how people seriously support him." Curan said.

"They are death eaters, they never stop." James said. "But, as much as I would like to stay and chat with you all, I have to get to History of Magic before Professor Binns chops off my head for being late again."

Regulus stifled a small laugh before handing James his bag that was by his feet. "Alright, see you later Prongs."

"Bye, Reginald." James said as he swung his bag over his shoulder and walked away.

As he left the great hall a Hufflepuff entered. "Oh yeah! I want to introduce you to my sister, Reg." Curan smiled as he noticed the red-head that was walking towards them. "This is my sister."

The girl gave him a small wave. "Hi! I'm Cordelia Wise." She greeted with a friendly smile.

"Regulus Black." Regulus greeted back, holding his hand out.

She shook his outstretched hand before sitting down where James had been moments ago. 'Since you and my brother are getting quite... friendly, I have questions I want to ask. Some of which will change how I look at you forever, but no pressure."

Curan rolled his eyes. "Go for it." Regulus smiled.

"Favorite band."

"Queen maybe.

"Favorite color?"

"Black. Why are these so random?"

"Exes?"

"James Potter and Barty Crouch Jr, but I also went on a few dates with Alisha Huxley in fourth year, trying to convince that I was straight."

"You went out with Alisha Huxley!?" Cordelia exclaimed.

A blonde haired, blue eyed Ravenclaw girl that was walking past them, with a short haired-brunette Ravenclaw girl and blonde Gryffindor girl by her side, stopped. "I heard my name."

Regulus gave them a welcoming smile. "Hey ladies."

"We were just talking about how Reg and Alisha used to go out in fourth year." Pandora smirked.

Emmeline and Marlene laughed at the memory and Regulus and Alisha made a disgusted face and fake gagged. "Oh god, don't remind me." Alisha said.

"I only went out with you because I was trying to convince myself that I didn't want to suck James's dick." Regulus said.

They all gave him a shocked look and Pandora hit him on the arm. "REGULUS BLACK!"

"What it's true!" He laughed. They all laughed again and Alisha sat down next in between Marlene, who was now sat at Regulus's side, and Cordelia. Emmeline sat down next to her.

"And look at us both now, two gay disasters." Alisha smirked, leaning into Emmeline's side.

"My favorite members of the queer club." Marlene smirked, putting her arms around both their shoulders. "So how are you two." She then asked, pointing between Regulus and Curan.

Curan shrugged. "We're good."

"Are you dating?"

"We aren't." Curan said. "Just going on some dates."

"Not yet." Regulus said under his breath and Marlene smirked.

"I see."

"How's everything with Barty if you don't mind me asking?" Emmeline asked.

Regulus looked like he was caught of guard by the question and he tried to hide how his face fell, but they all still caught it. "Oh um we aren't really speaking after what happened." He said sadly and they all gave him a concerted look so he quickly added. "Which is fine. Barty is an ass now, I'd much nether be here with Curan."

There was a awkward silence which Cordelia broke: "Well I for one think you guys make a cute couple." She said, smiling at the black and her brother. They all nodded in agreement.

Yes, Regulus liked Curan and was happy with him, but he couldn't help, but glance over at Slytherin table sadly.

Barty was tossing his food around on his plate with his fork when Sirius reached out to stop his hand. "For the love of merlin, mate please stop before it drives me insane. Please just eat it Barty." Sirius sighed.

"Don't want to." He muttered.

Sirius rolled his eyes and grabbed a apple, handing it to Barty. "At least eat this."

"Fine." Barty replied coldly. "Since you are suddenly so concerned about my well-being.

"Well yeah because you are my best mate, Barty."

"I still don't get why you care, I mean I don't deserve it."

Sirius let out a sigh and put a comforting hand on Barty's shoulder. "Look, what you did to my brother was wrong, but that doesn't mean i'm going to care about you, Barty."

"The problem is that I didn't even feel bad until I heard how badly he was injure! It didn't even cross my mind that I could have killed the boy I once loved! I'm turning into one of them and it's scary!"

Sirius frowned. "We all are and I think we just have to accept it because it was bound to happen eventually."

Barty nodded before looking away. "I'm just scared..."

"And that's normal! It's nothing to be ashamed of and anyone who says that can go fuck themselves because we are 17 and about to fight in a bloody war!"
