After the long day of Mitch being tried out and the lady taking him away to his new home I start to make dinner. I make pasta with chicken and mushrooms. Its Dad's favorite. Dad come into the kitchen in a fluster and is rushing about. I ask him what's wrong and he replys that we have an unexpected arrival of a horse.
I serve dinner but put the two plates of food in the oven to keep them warm. I put my short boots back on, slip on a jumper, grab a carrot and go outside to help. 2 of our grroms have clipped the leadrope onto the horse's headcollar but the horse refuses to move out the trailer. You can hear him kicking the sides of the trailer and his neighs of annoyance. I decide to try help. I stand by the groom and look at the horse. He was caked in mud, his mane and tail matted and had scabs that looked like someone had hit him. You could tell he wasn't gelded by his bad temper.
Dad came back and he was with a vet this time. He vet had a sedative. He shot the stallion and a minute or two later he crashed to the ground. Everyone helped haul this horse into a fresh stall. The vet give us some light sedatives that will only make him really sleepy so that we can take care of him and clean him up before the vets next visit. I decide that my help isn't needed here at the moment so I go back to the house and get my plate from the oven, have dinner then go to bed.
