Harry’s POV

It was cold. Extremely cold. I was curled up under some raggedy old blankets in front of a dumpster inside some random alleyway. My shivering was just as bad now as it was before I got the blankets but they shielded me somewhat.

It was currently December 26th and there was a bit of snow on the ground from earlier today. Yesterday was Christmas to a lot of people but to me it was just a normal day. And what is a normal day to me like? Well, I do my best to survive and if I live, than it’s a normal day.

After countless hours of shivering my body got tired and I drifted off into a wonderful sleep.

Sleep.

The only place I have no worries. Well when Im not having nightmares that is. Sleep is when Im peaceful. I feel safe, like no one can hurt me. Even though I know someone could just take me from the spot Im at while I asleep, I like to push that thought out of my head.

I wake up to fresh snow on the ground and the bright sun shining on my face. I get up and head to the diner I go to every morning.

“D&M Diner” the sign reads and I smile thinking of the nice cup of hot coffee awaiting me. I push through the door sounding a bell. Debbie comes and takes me to my table and a few minutes later brings me my usual, a cup of coffee and a banana nut muffin. I smile at her as she walks away to help what few other customers are in the diner. I don’t usually get close to people. I try to avoid all contact with anyone. But Debbie has always looked out for me. She has even offered me a room in her house but I kindly declined. Im not one to invade someone else’s space. Even though a room, inside a house, with warmth would be fantastic right now… I can’t accept. I would feel like a waste of space. Which I have grown accustomed to think of myself…

I take a sip of my coffee while I look at the newspaper. I don’t really care what’s happening in London, I just like to look like Im actually doing something. After about 20 minutes of sitting in the warm diner, and having something to eat I walk to the bar to tell Debbie by. As usual I try to pay but she refuses to take the money so I just laugh at her stubbornness and walk towards the door.

So many thoughts were running through my mind as I was about to step into the cold again. Where was I going to sleep tonight? What if Charles and his crew didn’t pay me like they said they would? What if I could just end all this right now? My thoughts were interrupted by me crashing into someone. I seemed to have knocked something out of their grasp. I bent down and picked up a cell phone. Oh how I need one of these. I stood back up to look at the mystery person and give them their phone back. My green eyes met the most beautiful color of blue I had ever seen. My breath caught in my throat and as much as I tried I couldn’t utter a single word.

“Am I going to get my phone back or are you going to just stare at me?” the boy laughed. His voice, god it was so… angelic? And his laugh made it feel as if there were a million butterflies flying around inside my stomach. All in all, he was gorgeous. His feathery brown hair looked slept on, yet perfect. He obviously had a fit body and I couldn’t help but check him out. He was so…pretty. I don’t know how to explain it but he looked feminine. He was dressed in a white shirt with horizontal stripes, and over that was a blue zip up hoody with the draw strings tied in a bow. How cute. He also wore dark red skinny jeans and white vans. The grey beanie sat perfectly on his head, with little bits of his fringe feathering out of it.

‘S-sorry… here’ I stuttered giving him his phone back.

“Thanks” he replied and I forced my legs to carry me towards the door, but was interrupted again… someone really is against me today.
