Chapter 1

9 a.m. My alarm clock started ringing. I didn't want to leave my comfortable bed,so I snoozed the alarm clock and turned around. After a few minutes, I gave up and decided to just get up. Since I was working at a place, where being on time is a plus point, I got out and went to go get ready for work. I walked over to the bathroom, to take a warm morning shower. I quickly got out and got ready for work.I was clothed casually today. A white blouse and black high waist jeans. I brushed my teeth, did my hair and walked downstairs to the living room, where my boyfriend Blake was sitting at the couch, scrolling through his phone. "Good morning" I said as I sat down next to him. He layed his phone next to him and pulled me in for a kiss. "Good morning, gorgeous. You ready for work?" I noded. We stood up, took our stuff and walked outside.It was pretty warm, but thankfully, my blouse was pretty thin, so it wasn't that warm wearing it. We drove for about half an hour, until he stopped in front of a big white building. I leaned closer to him to give him a kiss, before I stepped out of car, and walked inside. I checked in and went to the elevator. I pressed the button and had to wait for a few seconds, until the elevator finally stopped and I could step inside. I pressed the button near 2 and waited until the doors finally closed. As I got to my aisle, I first walked over to the office of my coworker Janet, to tell her good morning. She was sitting at her computer and talking to a customer on the phone, but when she saw me, she waved at me with a big grin on her face. She was an amazing coworker and friend. Like a sister. I grabbed a coffee from the coffee machine and walked over to my work space. "Arcana! Good morning. Glad to see ya!" It was Daniel. He stood at the door frame and looked at me with a smile. I looked back at him. "Good morning to you as well" He came to my desk and sat on the corner. "A lot of work to do?" he asked sarcasticly. I took out all the paper work that needed to be done and slammed it on the table in front of him. His eyes widened when he saw the stack of contracts and other things. "I don't know, you tell me. But in fact, you should be going, I should be encountering costumers soon" He waved and left my office. I got everything ready and took out everything I needed for my costumers. Now I just had to wait. I looked at the time. 9:50 a.m. I still had about 25 minutes until the constumers arrived. I decided to check my phone, as I saw 2 new messages from my best friend.

D- Hey girl! Guess who's back in town this week!!

A- I suppose you!

D- Yess! And my boyfriend is coming along as well. You still with Blake?

A- Yeah, of course I am!

D- Great! Why don't we meet up at the cafeteria you and I always went to?

A- Sounds good to me!

D- See ya!!

I layed my phone away and starting answering a few emails. Until I heard a knock on the door. Must be the customers. I stood up,got everything done and walked over to encounter them. It was a young couple, maybe like in their 20s, looking for a house near the beach. I introduced myself and we started the conversation.

As I ascorted the costumers, I heard my phone buzz. I shut the door after the customers left and walked over to my desk. I checked my phone and answered the person. Then I went back to work. After a few customers and most of the paper work done, I stood up and walked over to Janet's office, who was know on her computer. As I entered her office, she suddenly smiled like she had just won the lottery. "There's my favorite coworker" she said. I smiled back at her and we talked for a while. I was just finishing my shift so I decided to talk with her for a while,before heading home. Blake couldn't pick me up, so I had to call an uber. I said 'goodbye' to everyone and went downstairs. Just as I was about to call an uber, a long black car stopped right in front of me. The driver stepped outside to open the back door of the car. Suddenly, a tall man stepped outside. He was wearing a red blouse with a black vest over it, black jeans and black leather shoes. He had something that seemed like a walking stick but had a clear crystal ball on top. He came closer to me, black under his eyes. And he held out a hand. "Greetings, my dear. Are you looking for a transportation home?" I looked at him confused. He was unfamiliar to me, and I kind of felt uncomfortable, but it was alread 3 p.m and I needed to get back home. I took a deep breath and looked at the man standing in front of me. "Yeah, I was actually waiting on an ub-" He interrupted me by putting his hand around my shoulder and standing next to me. "Oh darling, why call and wait for an uber, when I can take you home?" a big devilish grin appeared on his face and I was now totally uncomfortable and confused. "So what do you say,doll? Do you want me to give you a ride home or do you want to wait here?" He held out his hand again. I looked at him. He was kinda right. And his offer made me think. If I had to now also wait for an uber, I would probably be home in like an hour or two. But if I would take this man's offer and let him take me home, I could relax until Blake comes home as well. "Would you really take me home?" He smiled gently. "Of course darling, I would never lie to such a lovely darling like you" he stepped aside and his driver opened the door for me. I noded thankfully and climbed into the back of the car, the mysterious man following. The windows were tinted from the inside, so there was no chance to look outside. I didn't have the curage to talk to this man, but he suddenly came closer and took my hand. I turned around to him confused. "Would you like a drink,doll?" I noded,still confused over the way he talked to me. He kept calling me 'darling' or 'doll'. He handed me a cold cup of what I supposed was liquior. I took a small sip and smiled at him. Suddenly, I felt dizzy. Everything around me was spinning,as I started to get unconscious. The last thing I saw, was him kneeling next to me,holding my head, the devilish grin on his face again,before everything went black.
