"Maddie!" I yelled her name, and waved my hands in the air. I noticed that she wasn't looking at me. Aish, look at me. "Yah! Look at me!"

I tried hard not to wake our neighbors up in this morning. Mom would scold me if ever.

She took away her earphones from her ears, and looked everywhere. I even widened my arms for her to notice me. Gosh.

Madeline smiled at me, as she was walking towards my direction. Her smile is somehow warms and melts my heart. When I was looking at her, it seems like everybody froze. It's like it's just me and her in this universe.

Huh, if only I could dream.

Meet Madeline Yoo, my best friend just last two years ago. How? Actually, we're neighbors, and not until we get closer and closer to each other. Which leads for our relationship to improve, more than strangers and neighbors.

I know that she's an introvert. She barely makes friends, and she has only 8 friends in total. Well, plus one, because I'm included.

I really had a crush on her. Yes! So that's why I always keeps on bugging her, and I even asked her if we can be friends. Luckily, she has a pure heart, so she accepted my offer of friendship. That time, my heart was really undeniably happy.

No, happy is not the right definition for that surreal feeling. It's more than that word.

"Sam?" Madeline looked at me from head to toe. Then, she smirked. "Are you going somewhere? A date perhaps?"

I chuckled at her remark. Me, dating? I could never imagine doing that thing. "No, I just want to."

"Oh," her smile immediately faded away. Actually, I called her earlier because I want to talk to her. I noticed a single tear on her cheek. She quickly looked away. "I guess, I'll be going?"

Before she could step away, I immediately grabbed her wrist, making her stop. She flinched a bit on my actions, based on how her shoulders lift a bit. "Maddie..."

"H-hmm?" She asked, without looking back at me. Her hands are shaking, and it makes me worried.

"Can we talk?" I softly and carefully asked. In which, she nodded.

"So... what's your problem?" I breathe out as those words roll in my mouth. "Care to share to me, Madeline?"

Currently, we're on the park. I dragged her here, because I noticed that something's off with her in this park. Most of the times, we consider this place as our entertainment, source of fun, and healing place as well.

Unfortunately, she didn't answer my question. I released a sigh, before looking at her, directly in the eye.

"Is it because of him, again?" I sat beside her, and stared at her sideways. From this time, I'm just hoping that she would open up again. "Am I right."

Without saying any word, she just simply nodded, while covering her face using her two hands.

Curse that man, for hurting my best friend!

How dare him?!

"Do you want me to-"

"No, no," she immediately held my wrist and shook her head, and then closed her eyes shut again. What's going on? She started biting her lower lip. Probably preventing herself from crying. "I-I'm fine-"
