CHAPTER 10

Harry and I had just gotten back from the first summer football game, which we won by the way! (And the cheerleaders looked pretty good as well, so it was a double win!) We were going to go hang out at my house after, but he wanted to grab a change of clothes and what not.

The past few nights he's been sleeping at my house, either because we've been too drunk to drive or we just ended up crashing after hanging out late. I didn't mind though, I actually liked it. It made me feel safe. I hated sleeping in that house alone.

"Do you just want to hang out in here while I take a quick shower? Then we can head to your place." Harry asked as we entered his tidy room.

"Sounds good" I said as I fell back onto the chair in the corner of the room.

"Hey! I didn't know you played?" I exclaimed as I picked the acoustic guitar off it's stand.

"Yeah a little, I'm not very good though" He chuckled.

"Did you just hear that?"

Harry stopped just as he was about to enter the bathroom and looked at me like he heard it too.

"Yeah, hold on." He said as he walked to the door and exited the room. "Stay in there." He yelled from the hallway.

I anxiously waited in Harry's room wondering what the noise we heard from upstairs was.

"What are you guys doing here? I thought you weren't coming back until next week?" I heard Harrys deep voice say from upstairs. I figured it was his parents that had made the noise, so I got up from the chair and stood in the doorway to hear what they were saying more clearly.

"Plans change, Harry" I hear a woman said.

"Well I'm glad you're home" Harry replied, probably hoping for one of his parents to reciprocate the affection. I remember Harry telling me in Santa Monica that his parents weren't to keen of him, and I definitely sensed it just now.

When I heard footsteps climb down the stairs and get closer to Harry's room, I quickly returned to my spot on the chair.

"Uh, my parents are home" he said with a bemused look on his face.

"I figured.. I should probably get home then" I said as I stood up and threw the strap of my purse over my shoulder.

"Aubrey... Stay" he stopped me as I walked towards the door.

"I don't think that's a good idea... Your parents are upstairs! Isn't that kind of weird? I know my parents would flip if they knew you've been sleeping at my house"

"They honestly don't care!" He laughed, and sadly I believed him. "And it's not like we're going to.. You know" He laughed.

"Harry, it fine, we can just hang out tomorrow!" We exchanged looks, him still trying to convince me to stay.

"I just don't like you being alone in that big house" he admitted, and I couldn't help but blush at his protective nature. I knew he hated the fact that I was living alone.

"Alright.." I gave in.
