"Tatsumi..." Chelsea said, forcing back a sob, as she felt hot tears begin to stream down her cheeks. "You came to save me."

"Of course." Tatsumi said, as he expanded the dragon-like wings on his back. "I promised you that no more of our comrades would die..." Equipping Neuntote, Tatsumi slammed the demonic staff into the ground. "And I don't intend to break that promise!"

"This man...is such a nuisance..." Kurome growled underneath her breath, glaring fiercely at Tatsumi and Chelsea. Clutching her head in pain, Kurome collapsed onto her knees. "Damn it...I can't move anymore...this is it for me...if that's the case, I'll have to kill both of them before I fall unconscious..." Balling her fists, Kurome stabbed Yatsufusa into the ground, so that she could use the sword as support to keep herself upright. "Earlier...that girl looked just like Bols...she even copied his usual speech patterns...that must mean..." Gritting her teeth in anger and frustration, Kurome summoned both her remaining puppets. "We must avenge Bols and the general! Chop them both up! Natala! Doya!"

"Chelsea, stay behind me!" Tatsumi exclaimed, as he formed an 'X' with his arms, blocking several shots from Doya's revolvers. "We have to get out of here!" Whipping around, Tatsumi placed his hands on Chelsea's shoulders, several more bullets deflecting off his back. "Sorry Chelsea, but you'll just have to bear with me for a bit!"

"What are you-" Chelsea started to say, before yelping in surprise when Tatsumi suddenly picked her bridal style. Without another word, Tatsumi took off running, with Natala and Doya hot on his trail. As Tatsumi ran, he held Chelsea close to his chest, even hunching forward and shielding her with his armored wings; doing anything he could to make sure she wasn't hit by the bullets being fired at them. "Tatsumi, what are we going to do!? We can't outrun them forever! They're undead puppets, so they won't get tired like we do!"

"I'm working on it!" Tatsumi exclaimed, as he dodged a spear jab from Natala. Leaping to the left, Tatsumi sprang off a nearby tree to avoid a barrage of bullets from Doya. Once Tatsumi landed, he continued flee at full speed. "Incursio, are we still safe to fly!?"

"I suppose so, but I must warn you partner, you're putting your body under a tremendous amount of stress right now. Once this temporary evolution-"

"I don't care! Getting Chelsea to safety is more important right now!" Tatsumi exclaimed, causing a fierce blush to spread across the auburn-haired assassin's face, as she gasped in surprise. "Hold on Chelsea, things are about to get pretty bumpy!" Crouching down, Tatsumi used all the power in his legs to launch himself up into the air. "Hold on Chelsea!" Reaching the maximum height of his jump, the wings on Tatsumi's back expanded outwards and propelled him even higher; creating a small shockwave as both assassins soared up at an incredible speed. Jolted by the sudden increase in speed, Chelsea wrapped her arms around Tatsumi's neck, pressing her body as close to his as possible. In one last attempt to stop the fleeing assassins, Doya fired another barrage of bullets from her revolvers. Chelsea screamed in shock and huddled closer to Tatsumi, as several bullets deflected off his back.

"Son of a bitch!" Kurome cursed, as she Tatsumi and Chelsea fly off into the distance. "There's no way I can pursue them in my condition." Placing both hands on Yatsufusa's hilt, Kurome stood back up on shaky legs. "As much as it annoys me, I'll have to give up on those two for now. I need to meet back up with everyone and report the bad news." Releasing a labored breath, Kurome leaned against Natala for support. The dark-haired Jaeger's eyes were hard and full of anger, as she stared down at the ground. "I'll never forgive Night Raid for killing the general and Bols...I'll make sure they die painful deaths...then force them to serve me as my puppets."
