Following the trail was no hard task for the Spectre. He found broken branches in several places captain America couldn't fit through. He ran along the thick branches, a sly smile set on his face.
Why was he doing this? Why did he have to cater to the whims of the Baron? Why had he agreed to this? Had he? He couldn't really remember. All he knew was that he had to do what he was told. He pondered all this while following the trail of his former ally. He, of course, didn't know the Captain was his friend, but what could he do anyway? It's not like he could at all contradict or disobey Zemo.
Even though it wasn't very hard to follow, it would take a long time to catch up with the Captain. And it wasn't like they were slowing down any. But the Spectre kept going, hoping they stopped somewhere soon.

Captain America was staying on the trail of the Black Panther. He soon stopped, though.
"Your tenacity is admirable, but you are out of place in the jungle Captain."
"You came to us for help, so here I am." He stood straight a few branches behind the Panther.
The Panther clenched his fist. "It is my burden to bear. Alone."
"And the Avengers are what? A distraction? Were you using us to get past your own people?"
"Man-Ape is mine."
But Cap wouldn't give up that easily. "Well, I've got my orders. Besides, I owe you one. You were the one who attacked my team, remember? So you can let me help you, or we can go another round." He balled his fist and cracked his knuckles.
Panther shouted: "Man-Ape took my father! And I did nothing! I failed him... I know you can understand that, Captain."
Cap's heart felt heavy. He knew what the Black Panther was talking about...or who. Cap had failed to save Bucky, and now he was in the hands of Zemo, one of his worst enemies. He could only guess what was happening with his former sidekick at that moment.
"Please, let me do this." He said.
Cap understood plenty. He kept following him, though, knowing he would help if needed.
They soon arrived. The man, or monster, Cap assumed was Man-Ape was sitting on a throne. He shouted loudly and clearly to an elderly tribesman reporting to him: "I am king! Not the Black Panther! The Black Panther is no more!"
From far away, jumping down from the branches, the prince of Wakanda yelled: "You are wrong M'Baku! The Black Panther challenges you for the throne of Wakanda!"
"T'Challa." The elderly man said. He turned to M'Baku. "A challenge has been issued. By tribal law, you must-"
The Man-Ape's growl cut off his subject. "I have no use for tradition. Crush the panther cub." Two armed women with spears ran for the Black Panther, who was now in the courtyard. A fight ensued between the women and the Black Panther. Their spears were swung and thrusted until they had him on the ground in front of the Man-Ape, who laughed heartily.
"Your father trained them well, cub."
T'Challa turned to the warrior women. "You do not have to do this." He said. The two looked at each other , but raised their spears. They had no choice. But, on their downward swing, Cap's shield glided in, shaving the tips off their weapons. T'Challa looked up to see the Captain standing nearby, ready to catch his frisbee like shield. He stood heroically, ready to fight.
"You can face Man-Ape alone. Anyone else is fair game. The Man-Ape rose from his throne.
"Tear the outsider apart. I will deal with the Panther."
The women started to bombard the Captain with fighting tactics new to Cap and affective against him. Nevertheless, the Captain fought hard against them, trying not to hurt them, seeing as how they were only following orders, as was he.
Meanwhile, the Man-Ape was attacking the Black Panther. The prince was dodging expertly, staying well out of reach of the huge hands of the monstrous man. By staying away from his grasp, he had worn down M'Baku's energy, making him tired. The Black Panther brought out his weapon of choice, the blades made from an interesting effect in the Vibranium. He brought his claw like blades to the Man-Ape, slicing mercilessly, trying to bring down the huge man.
He knocked him down to his knees, then brought his blades together, stretching them to form a staff. He spun it around menacingly. "Shall I show you the same mercy you showed my father?"
The Man-Ape rose slightly. "Why don't you ask him when you see him." With that, he pulled out a small device. The thing emitted a high-pitched sound, which reacted with the Vibranium in the Black Panther's suit, causing an ear-splitting noise. The prince fell to the ground, the sound altogether too much for him.

At this point, the Spectre had reached the scene. He had perched on the top of one of the huge, totem pole-like structure at the edge of the courtyard. He watched with a sick sort of pleasure the struggles of the Black Panther and Captain America. He watched as they were beaten down by their opposition.
He sat down on the edge of the wide- topped pole, fully out of their reach. Everyone present was focusing on the fight, so no one would ever notice him.
The long journey there had taken a lot out of him. He decided that waiting for one to beat the other would prove a more effective strategy than going straight in. He'd watch the fight like a reel. He only wished he had popcorn.
