Melissa's POV:

I walked up the path towards our front door with Lewis trailing behind me.

I have never been as scared to walk through a door than I am right now.

I couldn't tell if anyone was in the house or not since Derek doesn't have his truck any more. He had sold it to pay for his beloved vodka and cigarettes.

As for mum, well she never could drive. Well not since the accident that unfortunately made her into her present self.

I quickly turn around to face Lewis.

"If anything happens, run straight to your room and don't come out until I come to get you. Okay?" I instructed Lewis.

He nodded his head, anxiety clear on his face.

I held my key up, ready to insert it in the lock. Before I could, the door was suddenly ripped open.

I gulped as I looked up. I really wished I hadn't.

Towering over my 5'5 stance was a large creature, standing on its hind legs, looking somewhat....no...very pissed.

I admit, I was never one to believe in fairytales or any supernatural beings, so to see this creature standing before me scared the absolute shit out of me.

The creature was dark grey with black streaks which started from its black snout and travelled along its back to it's tail which then faded into black. It's large paws also faded to black until where it's large claws protruded out.

It bared it's giant dagger-like teeth at me.

I am now fully convinced that this creature is a werewolf.

I screamed and turned around to grab Lewis but the werewolf already had it's teeth in the back of my jacket and was fiercely dragging me through the door.

I tried to grab something to hit it with.

I grabbed the lamp off of the small table and swung at it.

The lamp broke on impact as I hit the side of the creatures face. The glass shattered across the floor.

It's grip loosened. I took this chance to scramble away from the creature.

I sprinted across the room to Lewis who was frozen in the doorway.

He was shaking with fear as he stared at the creature. I reached out to grab his arm, prepared to run.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my ankle.

I looked down to see the creatures jaw clasped around my ankle.

I screamed as I tried to break free of it's grip.

As I struggled, the jaws tightened as the pain grew more immense.

I fell on the ground as it started to drag me across the floor. I yelped in pain when it suddenly slammed my body into glass cabinet. The glass broke and splintered my skin.

My eyesight became blurry as I fell down onto my knees.

I looked at my stomach to see a piece of glass stuck in my side as a steady flow of blood streamed from it.

I stared at the wound. I knew I would probably pass out soon. But I had to get up. I had to protect Lewis.

Oh no, Lewis.

I looked up through my blurred vision to see Lewis running towards me. Relief washed over me. He was okay.

I reached out and took his hand. Tears started to stain his face when he noticed the glass in my side.

My hearing started to fade. He started to say something I couldn't comprehend.

I collapsed on the floor. I felt hands on my face, trying to lift my head up.

Then suddenly everything vanished. The warmth. The distant words. Lewis.

I managed to open my eyes for a split second and then I saw it. My ultimate fear.

I saw a small blur being flung like a rag doll against the wall. The once beige wallpaper, now stained red.

The body slumped to the floor. Only a few inches from my face.

Blood pooled out from the body and spread across the wooden floor.

"Lewis" I whispered before my vision was overcome with darkness.
