Chapter 4 Picnic

"Rise and shine Ash!" I said, but he didn't budge.

"Don't make me do it Ash!" I said while threatening him with Piplup.

"Alright, Piplup use bubble beam and wake this guy up!" Piplup smiled and burst out as much as he could!

"Ahh! I swear I was gonna get up!' He said while wiping his face.

"Sure you were!" I replied and then grabbed a towel to properly wipe his face.

As I cleaned him up, I felt weird we locked eyes and... I think he was about to kiss me, he sort of leaned in, and he closed his eyes.

"Oh sorry I guess I missed a spot!" I said in panic, I didn't wanna kiss him yet, but I also do, love is so strange!

"That's not what I meant..." He said and looked down. Then he went to grab his stuff, and went to the bathroom to go change.

Was he actually trying to kiss me?! Maybe I should have taken my chance, no one was around! Ugh I'm so stupid and bipolar about this!

I want our first kiss to be romantic and sweet, not awkward in a pokemon center room!

It's ok, I'll prepare some Poppins and get this picnic started. May already made the salad, and Zoey already prepared the fruit basket.

*Ash's POV*

Why didnt she want to kiss me back? Maybe yesterday when she said we were like Buneary and Pikachu, she didn't mean it in a romantic way... Wow and after she said that I totally started crushing on her!

I need to stay hopeful!

"Alright Dawn how are those Poppins coming up? Do you need any help?" I said in the most non-awkward way I could.

"Yup almost ready, these things only take a few minutes, I just need them to cool down." She said, and didn't look up.

"Ok I'll go downstairs to meet up with everyone else, and we'll choose a nice spot to picnic!" I replied, trying to sound cheerful and enthusiastic, but I ended up sounding stupid.

*Dawn's POV*

"Alright bye." I waved to him, and he left.

Well atleast the Poppins are almost ready, I'll take them downstairs, they can cool on the way.

I leave the room with Piplup, and grab Pikachu who was sleeping, I didn't want to wake him up but I don't want him to be left behind.

I make it downstairs to see Zoey and Gary talking, they were finally talking!

"Hey guys! So where did you guys wanna have our picnic?" I inquired cheerfully, and Drew explained there was this really sunny place, near the edge if Jubilife City, and we went and set up our picnic.

As we set up, Drew pulled May over to a corner, even though they were sort of far away, I could tell what they were saying.

"So May about yesterday...I'm sorry I yelled, it's just that all those times that I gave you roses,you never acknowledged they were from me, and I couldn't tell if you knew but didn't say anything, or if you just didn't know. Either way, the thought of you not knowing ripped me apart-" He was about to continue but she cut him off.

"Drew I've always liked you, but I seriously didn't know, I never thought you would have feelings for someone like me. I was in denial..." She looked down, and he put his hand on her shoulder.

"Someone like you? Who wouldn't have a crush on someone like you?!" He said as she looked up, and gave him a kiss on the cheek, I could tell she was about to turn away, but then he pulled her closer.
