Character introduction

Male lead - Abhimaan Malhotra

Female lead - Preeti Malhotra

Preeti has been eagerly waiting for the test to come positive.

This time, she made sure to use five test kits.

Sitting on the bed, she eagerly waited for five minutes to complete which felt like the longest five minutes of her life.

She was apprehensive, scared, nervous and what not but more than that, she was excited.

Maybe, a life was growing inside her, maybe she could be a mother and just the thought, made butterflies erupt in her stomach.

The thought made her feel so jittery that she couldn't wait for the test to come positive.

She was unconsciously tapping her foot on the floor with her elbows rested on her knees.

As soon as she heard the ping of timer going off on her phone, she dashed to the washroom where she had kept all the sticks aligned side by side with a big smile on her face.

She took them all one by one in her hands, her smile diminishing as she examined all the five sticks one by one.

By the time she checked the fifth stick, she had tears welled up in her eyes.

They all had just one line.

Every stick showed negative.

Just then a tear slipped her eye and she wiped away.

She closed her eyes and rested her head on the cold tiled floor.

Tears were not stopping it's way to her eyes.

She didn't know how long she was in the washroom when there was a soft knock on the door.

"Preeti" Abhimaan said.

Hearing her husband's voice, she quickly wiped her tears and took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Yes, Abhi. I will just be back" she said in a hoarse voice which was enough to let Abhimaan know what the result of the test was.

As much as he was excited, he was disappointed as well but he couldn't let his wife, his love know about it.

She needed him, more than anything now. His disappointment, his expectation were nothing in front of what his wife needed right now.

If he was disappointed, he couldn't even imagine what his wife was going through, after all she was the one who had to bear the child and the constant disappointments which she was getting was something every woman was not capable and strong enough to bear.

But, his woman was different from others.

His woman was exceptional and he was so proud of her, he was proud to be her husband.

He couldn't even imagine being in her place.

Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door again.

"Preeti, can I come in?" he asked.

"I...I'll just be back in sometime" he heard her hoarse voice again and closed his eyes.

If not for those good for nothing relatives and their taunts to be a mother, he would have said to her a long time ago that he didn't need a child, he just needed her, by her side, all his life, that's what mattered to him.

That's what always mattered to him.

But who could make Preeti understand, after all, every woman wants to be a mother, wants to bear the child of his love.
